I'm Overweight! Let's Celebrate!

Recommended Posts

I too was thrilled to reach the overweight mark. Being normal is about 18 pounds away. Doesn't sound like a lot but I haven't lost an ounce in 2 months. I admit this is my own doing since night time snacking has snuck back into my life. I am going to try to have my Protein drink (EAS at only 100 calories for 17 grams of protein) and possibly a greek yogurt for night time Snacks. I do not know why this is such a hard time for me to curb my cravings for sliders.

Anyway my next goal is to get in the 140s. I have not been that weight in about 20 years. I know I can do it. I am hoping changing up my excerise (just started c25k) will give me the kick in the pants I need.

As of today, I'm "only" overweight not obese per the BMI chart! Time to celebrate!

Woot Woot! that's great!

I just hit my 2nd major milestone......weighing less than my hubby........by 1 pound LOL My next major milestone will be 153 a.k.a. overweight.........woo hoo, 23 pounds to go.....

My next milestone is to reach my halfway mark -- which comes in 7.5 lbs. At that point, I'll have lost 60.5 and have 60.5 to lose.

After that, I'll have 26 (and some change) to lose before entering the golden gates of "Onederland" -- my next goal.

My NUT said that I came down an obesity level at my last appointment, but I didn't pay good attention. I'll have to look up the BMI categories...

Edited to add: I found it! So according to this, I started at Class III (42) and am now Class I (34.4). Next up: figuring out how far to "overweight."

Edited to add2: Well, that sucks. I have to weigh 195 to be "overweight," so that will have to be my THIRD goal!!!

< 18.5 underweight

18.5–24.9 normal weight

25.0–29.9 overweight

30.0–34.9 class I obesity

35.0–39.9 class II obesity

≥ 40.0 class III obesity

Yeah! Wtg! Doesn't it feel good?

I have 23 lbs to my 130 goal. My plan is to maintain until after the holidays and then get more serious about losing the last 23 lbs. I will enjoy myself thru the holidays. Im patient. Size 4 (im now an 8) can wait. Even if I never lost another pound, Im happy to not be 250 (bmi 41) anymore

Size 8 sounds amazing to me. My current plan is to stop at an 8 but who knows how I will feel when I get there? Well good for you! it's harder to lose when you have as little as you did, but you're doing it :)

that's awesome gg! Congratulations on your overweight-ness!

lol I have that marked on my list of milestones too :) My most recent milestone that I passed passed was to weigh what I did when I met my prince charming. His mind is blown to think that I am still 55+ lbs from goal. My ever-changing bod is like him sleeping with a series of different women all the time! lol

I am 2 lbs away from being overweight. Yay! Unfortunately, the weightloss is slooooowing way the hell down lately. No worries though. I will get there!

In -5 lbs, I will be in onederland and at 90lbs lost. In -15 lbs, I will be down 100. After that, the next mini goal is to weigh what it says on my drivers license. lol!

My first thought on the topic title was "Oh S*** Really, someone didn't just go there" See the poster and just knew it was gonna be something other than what I thought lol

BMI right now is (moderately overweight that's what it said anyway) at 30.8, I'm weighting 191 and 5'6..... gah still obese .9 until I'm just overweight and 6 pounds (185) until I to can do a Celebrate jig :)

Great way to look at it GG :)

we're so close! I hit 184.6 today and I am also 5'6, which is how I am "only" overweight. You'll be there before you know it.

Question for anyone, how did you get your mind right before surgery? Like as far as eating better foods and just doing better in general? I'm having a really hard time with this. Any help is appreciated 🙏❤️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
