Breakfast help!

Recommended Posts

Just had my 6 month follow up. Overall I am doing well and slightly ahead of schedule as far as weight loss. Every morning I have cottage cheese topped with fruit and almonds for Breakfast and I love it. My doc said it is fine for now but as time goes on the mushy foods will not keep me full. I love the taste and how quick and easy it is but I need new ideas now. I'm know I will not be making myself eggs in the morning. smoothies and Protein Shakes re not okay either. . Any ideas????? I appreciate it.

I'm 17 months post op and LOVE my cottage cheese and eat it every day. I also have oatmeal and flavor it with cinnamon. I make a breakfast pie with eggs, veggies and bake it in a pie shell. You can get pretty creative with what you add. I will make a breakfast pie on Sunday and it last me all week, I just put a slice in a container and heat it up when I get to work. You don't necessarily have to eat "breakfast" foods for breakfast, I'm the type of person that can eat anything any time of day so don't restrict yourself to "breakfast only" foods for breakfast... eat what you like when you like :)

You can also make mini individual sized quiches using a muffin tin. Quiche is wicked easy - all you do is mix eggs, skim milk, cracked pepper, and your choice of add-ins. I like bacon and asparagus; spinach, mushrooms and cheddar; ham, onion, and swiss; Tomato, spinach and feta; chourico and cheddar; and broccoli and cheddar. Be creative - throw in whatever you like! :-)

When you make a batch you can put the extras in ziploc bags and freeze them. lunch or dinner in a pinch! :-)

Hi everyone, please be aware that drinking coffee of any kind can give you painful stomach ulcers after surgery, I been drinking 2cups Decaf a day & now I have stomach ulcers (very painful) my dr found them yesterday during another upper go. I couldn't keep anything down very long even fluids for more than 1he, I was hoping it was a stricture but it's something that may prompt another unexpected surgery if these nasty meds don't heal the ulcers. Please stay away from all coffee & tea, it's my lesson learned..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

I may have to have gall bladder surgery during my weight loss surgery. Not thrilled about it either but do not want 2 recovery times. Just want it over with.

Thanks for your post. I may need to rethink my decision... :(
