What to eat after a work out....

I'm hoping there are some suggestions out there - I'm almost 6 weeks post op and have started at the gym. I'm an early riser so will be going in the mornings before work. This morning, I drank my protein shake on the way there (I have to have something when I get up) and found I was a little wobbly after. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what's a good thing to have after? Not supposed to have any energy bars or granola bars or anything like that and I don't think another protein shake is the way to go.

My go to after the gym is a few hard boiled egg whites and/or string cheese. I'm no expert, so curious what others will say, too!

I do a protein drink before and after work outs. Or something small food wise with protein like a egg and cheese or a quest bar. most of the time its a protein shake before and after.

I get that way when I am dehydrated. I need to drink water throughout my workout. How's you water the night before and first thing in the AM?

Hard boiled egg, string cheese, cottage cheese - something with protein...

Thank you all! I can't eat eggs now for some reason, so those are out. I was thinking about a Protein shake before and after, but was concerned about going over the range I was given by the NUT. Is that a bad thing?

Erp - I drink at least 100 oz a day. I get wobbly because my sugars get low.
