hey everyone I am 21 years old and I was sleeved on 10/21/2013. I have some pain and some tenderness but I think it's mostly gas (lol). I have a lot of nausea. idk if anyone else experienced this but they found be a good "cocktail" of anti nausea meds. I chew gas-x every few hours. I was told get 4oz of liquid every hour. that's been so hard for me. I have a banding on my tummy to.keep it compressed. (I had severe hiccups after surgery). I am also on obesityhelp.com which I find so helpful so ill try this next :)

I was sleeved the same day. I haven't had the nausea, thank GOD. But, I have had plenty of gas pain. My fever and blood pressure started going up about an hour ago. Not sure what that's about but I'll just keep a check on it and hopefully it'll be fine. My hubby thinks I did too much today. I felt really good today so I walked alot and went into the office for a couple of hours. Tomorrow will be alay low day.

I had my surgery on Monday and I too have bad nausea. The doctor gave me Zofran ODT that I'm supposed to take one every 4 hour for nausea. Gas and pain really hasn't been a big problem, but like this evening, sometimes I feel like I'm going hurl for no reason. About the only thing I can drink is very small amounts of Water and chicken broth. I just tried some Isopure Alpine Punch and it kicked my butt. If you find something that works, please let us know.

Try drinking smaller sips and slow down on drinking just a little until your nausea goes away. It may help! Good luck and congrats!! I was sleeved 10/21 too:)

The best way to help with the gas is just to keep walking. I was sleeved 10/09

I used the Gas X chewables on days 3-7 and now I am gas free. Thank goodness because that mess was painful. Lol give it a try. I was sleeved 10/10/13 :)

I was sleeved on the 22nd and have had terrible nausea and gas since. But...hubby got me gas x strips and those kicked the gas out within a good 8 hours. Feeling so much better too.

I think a combination of getting few nights rest in your own bed and staying on too of your meds will calm things down.

Also, I've been using my heating pad on my tummy. The nurses I had started that while I was still in the hospital. That's made a HUGE difference too for me. I've found that if I feel nausea, chances are my sleeve is full already so I back off. :-)

I don't feel any different when drinking. I feel like I could eat or drink as I did before. Wondering why I can't feel my sleeve getting full.

I think the only reason that I can feel mine is becasue part of it on the lower end is still pretty swollen. I saw the Xray from my leak test and it looked swollen shut in two places. They ended up giving me a steroid shot to bring the swelling down.

I was sleeved 10/21 as well. They did what they could to prevent nausea, but I ended up throwing up the same evening. After that they gave me a lot of meds to fight it. ( not good to do that right after surgery). Every time they gave me pain meds in the hospital they had to do an anti nausea chaser. Since I have been home it is less. My stomach is trying to "kick start", sometimes I'm not sure if I feel hunger or nausea. Today I have been trying hard to get in my fluids and my Vitamins. Pain is better tolerated so I am not taking so much of the pain meds. I burped a lot in the hospital, but didn't do the rest (to relieve gas) until I was home. Now it comes and goes fairly easily. My added bonus was my sinuses were a mess pre op. While they were not bad enough to reschedule surgery, the post nasal drip certainly has helped nothing. And for some reason no one thought to put the bubbler on my oxygen while I had it so it dried the sinuses a lot. Been dealing with bloody nose issues for days now. I do feel a gradual progression back to "normal" with each day. But I do have to admit I didn't know exactly what to expect until I got here. It has been hard, but I still feel worth it.

I was also sleeved on Monday 10/21... I'm having a hard time with this has issue. I've walked and I feel very strong but the has just will not go away. When I eat I can feel it and it hurts for the food to go down. I'm going to try GasX and see if it helps. I also woke up sleeping on my tummy, there was no pain but I'm wondering if it affects me?

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
