Welcome brennalynn! Even though we think of 72 hours as 3 days, I think in hospital speak, 72 hours is anything less then 96 hours, you know what I mean? So, overnight is less than 24 hours (usually 23 hours). One day in the hospital is over 24 hours but under 48. So technically you could be in 2 nights (depending on the time of your surgery). Hope that helps! Glad to have you in our group!

Thank you. The surgeons office keeps saying 72 hrs, but they don't have my post op until 4 days later. I am really hoping to fly home sooner, I will miss my kids terribly!

I have 150 to lose! Looking forward to our big losses!

I have my surgery scheduled for 12/2!!!! I'm so excited and nervous. My first surgery!!! I have over 200 lbs to lose! Any other big losers here?

Good luck to you, Baeball Mom! Glad to have you in here with us!

I am scheduled for 12/17/18. I have my barium swallow tomorrow, Manometry on the 25th, Anesthesia Eval on the 11th of December and i am ready to go... It has been a long journey but i am glad i have stuck with it... Good luck to everybody!!

Fingers crossed, Jenny! Nice start to the new year!

I might be a December Sleever! I am trying to tie up a few loose ends!

I'm Angie, 39, 5'6, 307. I'm meeting with Dr Lisa Martin Hawver on Dec 6 to discuss getting the sleeve. Can anyone tell me the length if time from first meeting with surgeon to surgery date? Just curious

Insurance Medicare/Medicaid

I don't think you can have your first meeting in Dec and surgery in January .. because of all the pre op testing and medicaid takes longer than medicare and I think 1 of them requires a supervised diet but don't hold me to it ..

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
