Sore stomach after fluid taken out

Recommended Posts

Hi, I've had to have Fluid removed from my band as I couldn't eat much of anything :(

The surgeon removed 3 1/2 and I can eat! :) I know I'll have to be careful but as I'm haveing to re-learn healthy eating I decided to make it easier on myself. If I can't cope i'll just have to restrict again.

My query is, is it normal for my stomach to feel sore? I can eat and drink but I'm achy and sore where the band is. I'm scaring myself by thinking 'corrosion'!

Thanks peeps xx

Did your dr put on on liquids following the defill? Any time I've been defilled, even partially I've been put on liquids while my stomach was adjusting.

Were you having any acid reflux/ gerd? The only ways I know of to check for erosion and ulceration is an endoscopy. Not a fun procedure but effective at getting a good picture of what's going on in the pouch.

Hi, yes acid reflux every couple of hours if I didn't have a hot drink :( gurgled like a drain, never felt content after eating because I usually gave up!

Liquids only wasn't mentioned.

Hmmmmm I think I'll see if it settles down for a few days before I consider a endoscopy! Lol doesn't sound good!!!

It was only adjusted on Tuesday so it's still early days.

Thank you xx

Did you let your dr know about the reflux? Were you put on an acid reducer? I was on protonix which helped immensely. And it also helped to heal the ulceration. I've had 2 endoscopies, they;re not bad- I just hate twilight sedation.

I'd put a call into the drs office to let them know you're still having pain, and ask about solids/liquids/ and acid reducers.

My doctor has us on full liquids the day of the fill, and then back to what feels comfortable. If I have the fill in the morning, I'm told, if I can tolerate it, I can have mushy in the evening. All docs are SO different.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
