5k! My new love!

So excited and proud of myself! I ran my first 5k today! My goal was to run it in 45 minutes! I beat my goal and did it in 42:05 minutes!! Feeling on top of the world! Amazing what you can do when you drop 75.5 pounds!

I trained for a 5k by using the couch to 5k app- I downloaded it to my phone. I ran my 1st 5k (no race, just the distance) a few weeks ago and have since run it 3x per week. I love it and my dog enjoys the exercise as well, it really helps his behavior issues too!

How'd you train/prep for this? Did you run constant or did you walk to catch your breath?

I joined a 5k training program. We had a group run on Mondays and ran on our own two additional nights a week. The class was 9 weeks and the graduation was a 5k race. The couch to 5k apps you can get on your smart phone are great also. I joined the training group because I liked that it had a race at the end of the program.

I've attached a picture of me with my completion medal! It was such an amazing feeling to complete the race!
