Thats awesome... I have several drs that i see at the gwv... Ive just decided that the surgery itself should be closer to home though... I just finished up my 6th month visit today... 5 more lbs down which makes a total of 51 since the beginning of the year... Psych visit is this coming monday... Finish paying fee next friday then paperwork gets sent off to ins and the waitng game begins... looks like we may be around the same time or i may be a month ahead but lets keep in touch and we can compare "notes" and help each other out... Did u join the yahoo group that geisinger has??? also theres a great fb page called bariatric friendly thats reallt helpful as well... Talk to you soon... sw 440-cw389-gw-195

I just had my 3rd appt, 2nd class got the binder and book today. So I guess that hope of having a December date will be more like February or March :-( ugh. I envy those that don't have to go thru the six months of appts. I guess it good for some but dammit, Ive done my own homework lol. I already reached my weight loss goal+ and quit smoking. I only had to lose half of the 10% required cuz I had to quit smoking too. Next month I have the 2.5 BME appt. I'm ready to go get this done lol. I haven't joined the yahoo group. Do you have the link to it?? I don't use FB much but I will look at the page. Thanks for telling me about them. I'm pretty sure my surgery will be in Danville. Definitely should keep in touch even tho we aren't as close as I was hoping for. Good luck with the psych eval. Fingers crossed you get the green light :-) Congrats on the weight loss!!! You did great.

heres the link for yahoo http://groups.yahoo.com/neo/groups/Weigh-to-go-2/info... yes it gets a little frustrating seeing all the people talk about getting their surgery within just a couple visits and having to not have to lose any pre-surgery weight... but I wonder how well they will do afterwards... Im sure that geisinger has to have a reason why they are doing the things that they do... or I hope so anyway... lol... Im actually half way between wilkes and danville but I have drs in scranton, wilkes, and danville... all with geisinger though... Im always back and forth... have you made any other changes in eating??? exercise??? Ive found a few apps for my phone that are pretty neat if your interested...

Thank you so much. I'm gonna have to join when I get on a computer. I can't see where I can join on my phone. I use my fitness pal to keep track of my calories and such. Would love if u shared other apps that could help. I basically have just changed my eating big time. I try to stay under 1000 calories a day and usually I stay around 900 a day. I dropped all sugar...soda and ice tea and candy. Cut out all junk food and Buffets lol. I eat a lot of fish and seafood which I love anyway, just less of it per meal. I don't eat a lot of bread. As far as exercise, I don't do much at all because of severe back pain and this weekend I managed to throw out my knee bad. I lost a total of 24lbs in 2 months. Dropping just the soda helped big time. That's all I drank. Now I drink mostly Water or diet soda.

Hello...I'm doing ok. Been kinda eating crappy the last few days, since my Dr appt. Gotta get back on track tomorrow. Thanks for the apps. The only one I use is my fitness pal. I like it cuz it makes you responsible for everything you eat as long as you log it. I sent a request to that yahoo group but its still pending. How are you doing??

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
