Hi I am 37 years old

I have 3 beautiful teenage daughters and a handsome husband. I am a little nervous about my scheduled surgery on August 9, 2013 for the RNY. I began this journey in January 2013. My first weigh in was 285 lbs. I actually got approved faster than I thought. I thought it was at least a 12 month process. On May, 9, 2013 I had my gall bladder surgery. Really thought after that it would still be pushed back. BCBS Texas moved fast on this. My last weigh in was June 19, 2013 and I weigh in at 260 don't want to know my current weight until I go for pre op. I have a concern for the liquid diet. What are some of the things that I can drink for that. I know I have to get the Protein. I can't do Greek yogurt I tried it, it was nasty did not like the texture of in while eating. Any suggestions

Your doc is going to give u a specific list of approved foods because all of our docs are different and does things differently make sure you follow the your docs orders to the "t". Congrats and Best Wishes!

Congrats and good luck on the upcoming surgery!!

As for your question I would really ask you doc or nut. You will soon figure out that all docs have different plans and restrictions.

For my liquid diet I drank lactose free milk with carnation instant breakfast.

Congrtats to you and good luck

Every doctor is different with meal/liquid plans... I used Isopure creamy vanilla it was good to me before surgery, after I hated it...

and high^5 on the greek yogurt I hate it too....its too thick, and its nasty YUCK lol

I always hear everyone say how delish it is, and I'm like are we eating the same thing??? lol guess its an acquired taste...for me its a no go...:)

My surgery was 21 days ago. Although I can eat some solids still prefer colr ultra cold icy fluids. My taste buds have changed dratically and my sense of smell is more acute.

  • 10 months later...

Hello, I am 36 and I will have surgery 2 days before my 37th birthday. Next, year I will Celebrate my 38th feeling better than I have since I was 25 (when I began to gain). : ) I am feeling very excited and hope to share my journey with you if you are willing.
