Expect to be in the bathroom a couple times an hour for several hours. I was still having diarrhea the next morning! I was afraid I'd poop during surgery. I didn't of course.

Get some wet wipes to clean with. The toilet paper after all that will make you really raw.

I was wondering about this as well. I have a sensitive gag reflex and hope it's not awful, because I'll never get it down.

I strongly recommend getting it down as fast as possible with a Water chaser.....it is better than some other preps, though

I had to use this as well. I got the lemon flavored. It is slightly carbonated so don't let that scare you. The lemon was tart like lemonade without the sugar. Just get it down as quick as possible. I maybe went 6 times and then once at the hospital before surgery. It wasn't as bad as I thought it was gonna be.

The Lemon is the best..sour and cherry next best. I did the grape the last time and omg it was quiet hard to choke it down. I started on Sunday and my surgery was on tues morn. I didn't go before surgery that morn but I had the feeling like I might have to and was waiting for my period..I don't know which was worse..the worrying about that time or the fear my bowels would take over on the table.

I had the grape flavored magnesium citrate. It was like a fizzy liquid sweet tart - nasty! But I was able to get it down. It didn't make my stomach hurt but I needed to be close to a bathroom the rest of the day/night. I remember breaking out the Desitin because after all those trips to to bathroom I was getting sore/raw!

At my nurse-ed class they said to put it in the fridge the day before. It goes down easier cold. And stake a claim on a bathroom in your house. Don't let anyone near it - it's yours for the night! Definitely do not leave the house.

It wasn't as bad as I feared either. The taste was not the worst I ever had and the bottle was not too big. I went a few tomes in the evening, and again in the morning when I arrived at the hospital.

I had the cherry. Almost got the lemon but the pharmacist said most people go for cherry or grape.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
