Hi everyone,

I've been staying away from carbonated drinks like soda since surgery 4 months ago. My question is, has anyone had something like a mikes hard lemonade or something similar? My doctor cleared me to drink alcohol but I don't really like anything other this. I know it has a little carbonation (less than soda). Just wondering if I can drink something like that this weekend at a 4th of July party. Thanks!

I take sips of coke zero off an on throughout the day. If i drink too much of it my pouch will hurt. They say to stay away from carbonated drinks...but i think in moderation, should be OK. That's just me though...may want to check with your Dr. also.

My Dr said to kiss soda and alcohol good bye forever. He won't support it. Even after the first year. LOL

It's so weird the differences in doctors. I'm not sure about alcohol as I haven't asked- not a big drinker anyway.

My NUT says no sodas ever again and yet my surgeon told me when I'm 2-3 months out he doesn't mind as long as there is no caffeine and it's Diet. I mean they work in the same practice and yet have varying rules!

My team said to avoid alcohol for the first 6 month....and I was told when u first drink you may want to do it at home because you can get drunk off a small amount.

I've read that it stretches your pouch?...but i'm really confused about that because if you have two outlets in your pouch...how can it stretch? So many conflicting articles on carbonated drinks!

I'm done with alcohol. After surgery doc found a ulcer. I don't want any issues. I went to a bar/grill last weekend. I had a crystal light drink enhancer in my purse ordered Water in a glass gave it a shot of enhancer for color. Lol. I had fun, felt great the weird part was when the guys wanted to buy me a drink... I had to say I want a water. Lol

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
