How much liquid?

SD: 6/10/13 HW 305/SW 259/CW 222/GW 150 <br />Sent from my SCH-I605 using RNYTalk

The liquid is probably my downfall. I used to chug Water. Now that I can't it's so hard to get it all in.

I'm the same way. I used to love to chug water. Try to get your liquids in. It will help.

So I started a new job last week and they're buying us lunch as a welcome/monthly meeting tomorrow. They're getting 99 which is fine' date=' I think I can find something to eat from them. Nobody knows that I've had surgery. My problem is how do I explain the portion size. Already people are asking if I'm starving myself because I only have a yogurt or Protein Bar for lunch. I really don't want people to know I've had surgery. I already had to turn down an offer of m&ms from the owner. He asked why not so I told them I was on a dr supervised diet and he just stared at me with a strange look on his face. Has anyone else been in this situation and how did you handle it?[/quote']

I have this same situation all the time at my new job. They have food all the time and one of the doctors brings in a cake everything Thursday. He was pushing and pushing me to eat a piece today and finally I just said I can't have sugar because it makes me very sick and he laid off... As for portions, I just tell people I can't eat very much these days... Leaves them confused, but as far as I'm concerned, I didn't lie and they don't need to know any more...

I guess my post didn't complete. Left off the words from my picture.

I finally made it to Puerto RIco! It feels great to go out in my bathing suit and not be embarrassed! Here is a picture from our balcony.

My baby is fussy today, I can't hold nothing down...it might have something to do with kidney stones, yes I had to rush to the ER this week because of kidney stones, the worst pain you would ever want to experience, I felt like I was dying, it hurt to breath...I don't wish that pain on my worst enemy....

Here's my stance. I don't draw attention to what im having or not having. When people ask about portion I say im not hungry. If they try and push junk, a no thank you is all they get. It isn't any of their business. Set the tone early, stay consistent and eventually people back off. :)

I have been very open about having had WLS. I'm 9 weeks out from surgery and am down 49 pounds. Before surgery I told only my closest family members. I was afraid that I would be deemed a cheater. But now, I KNOW I'm no cheater. All of the pain and both physical and mental adjustments on top of the diet and excercise we all have to follow far exceed all the efforts I've made before. I previously lost 50 pounds throught diet and excercise and gained it all back plus 24 pounds. So, depending upon the situation I'll let them know. I don't see it as "admitting" to WLS but about educating people about what it is and isn't. No miracle cure but lots of hard work physically & mentally. Of course, I understand the flipside too - it really isn't anyone's business what or how much you eat. I think this is a totally personal decision that each one of us has to make for ourselves. I say do what's most comfortable for you. We don't need to deal with any more than we already have on our "plate"!

I am very open with the fact i had the rny i dont tell everyone but my team.mates at work know and refrain from asking me " hey wanna cupcake" and crap like that. i am included in all activites in fact im the one who plans most of them. when they do takeout for pizza or chinese they make it a point to see if i want something that would fit my needs. i appricate the fact that the ask. i made a decision on how i will live the rest of my life and they all are behind me 100%

I respect the point of view of keeping the rny a secret. but for me the more support the better and it has been 100% sucessful.

End of my first week back teaching and my colleagues and students have been so amazingly supportive! I am so grateful to all of them. If anyone asks me directly how I lost the weight I tell them I had surgery to help me not only lose weight but cure my HBP and sleep apnea, and that I am on a very strict food and exercise plan. They have all been wonderful. The more support the better!

I'm really struggling now that the initial weightloss shock has passed. When I look in the mirror now instead of being so excited by how great I look in ow pick it apart again and only see how much further I have to go. I'm frustrated by that. My head knows how incredible an 80 lb loss is but my eyes just aren't seeing it That frustrates me so much.

surgery date 6/11/13 HW: 364lbs. SW: 335.5 CW: 288 GW: 150

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
