I'm curious how long did it take before you decided to clean out the old larger clothes?

I just cleaned out the ones that are hanging off my shoulders i still have some that I'm hoping will be too big within the next month. I just need to make sure I have some that will fit once school starts.

This morning I'm down 60lbs since I started this process in April. I only have another 5 until I'm half way to my goal!!! I'm so excited!! I've never felt better!!

I am now comfortable in size 18 petite. I am slow but I don't care I am in it for the long haul! 16 petite here I come!

I am right with you. I was a size 26 or tight size 24 before surgery. Tops were 3X. I'm down 33 lbs. since school let out in June. Tops are now 2X or even 1X, and pants are loose size 24 or tight size 22. My bottom half isn't keeping up with my top half! I got rid of a lot, but still need school clothes. School starts next week. I don't think I'll purge my entire old wardrobe for another 15 lbs.

I started washing my clothes in hot Water and drying them on high to shrink them to get a bit more wear out of them. I too am loosing faster from the top half of my body. Or maybe i just have so much more to loose from the lower half

Preop weight 389 current weight 338 lost to date 51 lbs 148 to goal rny 6/11/23

Today makes 8 weeks post op for me. I am feeling rather blue. Not sure what's going on. I don't want to eat, but make myself. I am really missing eating normally. It's hard because I am excited about the weight loss, but getting very depressed trying to cook for my whole family. The last two days I have cooked what sounded really good to me and then as I start eating it just tastes nasty.

Thanks for letting me whine just a little. :)

I felt the same way a couple of days ago. I was sitting at a restaurant and had two bites and it got stuck. And I too said I wish I could eat normally again. However Mel, I LOVE seeing your new profile pics. Every time you post a new one you look like a totally different person. You should do a "slideshow" when you hit your year surgiversery. Just remember the good outweighs the bad and this too shall pass.

I can share your feeling. I am almost 7 weeks out. And have cook an anniversary meal. This weekend two birthday meals with cake.

I caught myself feeling bad about it and I really had I search myself. It helps me to think that this is me serving my family and that I can take great pride and pleasure in.

I also have started cooking more healthy for my family. Making new weekly menus That I can adapt to. :)

Thanks so much! I do love that I am fitting in more clothes. I am sure it's just a yuck day. I am generally pretty positive. I feel like I can not adequately share with my family because they haven't been through it so they don't understand.

Thanks for the comment about the pics as well. :)

I am trying to change my family and their eating habits, but with 2 picky teenagers and a husband who loves to eat, it is a difficult task.

I will keep plugging away.

Thanks for the response.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
