Went for my 4 week follow up appt today. Down 24 pounds which is great but I've only lost 4 in the past 2 weeks. Why is it we have to beat ourselves up so much? Surgeon is happy but we're watching for stricture because I seem to have solid food "catch" too often' date=' or maybe I'm eating too fast even though I don't think I am. HW 247.5, CW 221.[/quote']

Momma_Doe,

i am.having the same issue. i think im eating slow enought but then ..STUCK!!! it has been happening over the past week. not all of the time but enought to be a pain in the ass!

A friend told me her solution was to retrain here brain to understand what a 45 minute feels like. she used a timer for everymesl and i have used it yesterday and today and this is a great trick/ solution. since the timer is riight in frount of you you know can measure your intake and keep an even pace . seems like a winner so far. im using the countdown timer on.my android...good stuff...hope this helps

Yes that sounds like a good idea. I always ate too fast before surgery and now I need to truly learn what SLOW is!

I had a horrible experience this afternoon. I haven't had a BM in several days. Today I had to go but it was large and hard as a rock, and I had a very ard time getting it to pass. I felt lie dying. Anyone else experience this? I'm going to call the nurse tomorrow to see what I can do to prevent ths from ever happening again!

Anybody ever get waves of warmth in there stomach. It almost feels like heartburn but it doesn't leave my stomach. It also is a little crampy. I did have an awful night last night with a piece of over cooked fish. Threw up four times. I don't know if that could be the cause. Anyone else have similar symptoms.

Not sure how I'm going to handle this.... Got a letter from the dr office. My Iron level is low and they want me to double up on the iron pill. I can barely go to the bathroom as it is! My vit D is low as well so I have to double up my Calcium w/vit d and take an extra d3 supplement. I guess this could explain why I need an after noon nap

Try an iron pill that also has a stool softener.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
