waiting for date

Hi all. I am new to LBT. I have my appointment with Dr. Singh in Albany on Thursday and hope to leave with a surgery date. I am probably looking at April. I am really excited, yet very nervous. I want to have it done sooner but am going on a family trip for Easter and am afraid I may not be strong enough for a 15 hr drive each way and to keep up with the kids.

I have been fighting with my weight all my life but nothing seems to be working as i'm getting older, and can't wait to have the tool to help get it off and keep it off!

I did it, got my date for April 16, 2007. so very excited, it has been a long road. In Albany there is a laundry list of things you must do before your date including 10% of your weight.

Thanks so much Melissa - so glad I met you, It helps so much to have someone who can help motivate you times

Hi Jennifur and congratulations on your date to be banded! It will be here before you know it! Also congrats on your weight loss so far! That is wonderful! Best of luck to you! I was banded on 1/30/07 in RI. I am doing well. Take care-Gigi:)

Thanks! this is such a wonderful site! It is so great to have support and to see other people's fears and accomplishments to know that I am not the only one out there. It is great motivation for me

Glad you are doing well.

Congrats on the banding date, I was banded on 1/17/07 and am ready for my 1st fill. It has been 5 1/2 weeks since the surgery and I am fully healed. I seem to be able to eat anything I want at this time and am anxious to see if the band will help slow this down. I have lost 40 pounds since I got on the pre-surgery diet and don't know if I have lost any more or not. I was very heavy and can't weigh outside the doctor's office. Starting weight 442 lbs. am now at 402 lbs. I was glad to hear about this site and will use it to help support others and look forward to supporting others as we move through the weight loss minefields.lol

Bigelow

Hi Bigelow,

Congrats on the pre surgery loss. I am dreading the pre op diet myself, but looking forward to losing anything. It's been a while since I've had any real success at dieting. Good luck with your fill, let us know how you feel after. I am so excited about this whole process and as supportive as my friends and family are, I think they are a little tired of all my enthusiasim. I have a tendency to run on and on and on, well you get the picture!

I am getting so excited, I think as every day goes by I am just thinking about my new life and getting some self confidence back. There are a few things I am nervous about but they are simple things. I am a bit worried about life style change, only because this is going to be the thing that makes or breaks my relationship!

I will be Healthy and Strong either way!

Congrats all on the weight loss!!!!!

:clap2:

Jennifer you will do awesome!

I'm glad we both have this site and each other. It really makes all the difference in the world!

We help keep each other motivated - and I get to be your guinea pig getting the band first :)
