Kdgaines, I am praying for you! Insurance turn around times are a lot faster than they used to be. Just be positive!! :)

Now after telling someone to be positive, I am going to do a little freaking out myself. Oh my goodness my worst fear has come to life. I woke up feeling sick. Sore throat and achy ears. I'm praying this passes over. I have 6 days till surgery. :(

Hey all! I looked around and couldn't find anything for June surgeries. I don't have my exact date yet' date=' but it will be the 1st or 2nd week of June!! Sooo excited!! I had my lap band out on April 18th and they were supposed to do the bypass, but they weren't able to due to scar tissue. I saw my surgeon today and all should be a go for June! Yay!!!! RNY here I come!!![/quote']

I was just approved but I have no solid date yet.

Looks like my new day will be June 20 if all goes well when she starts scheduling!!

Also do any of y'all have a blog or would you follow blogs? I've had a few people suggest it to me and I think it's a great idea just wondering if anyone would follow

I would follow a blog about your journey. Have already read through several blogs when I was making the decision to have the surgery. They were really helpful in knowing what to expect.

Just curious...I see a lot of people on here going from band to bypass. Just wondering was the band not what you guys hoped it would be or was it part of the plan to get to the bypass. I know I've heard people say they had to lose weight to be able to have the bypass done and some people started with the band due to risk factors, but then someone referred to it as the "crap band." Like I said, I'm just curious. I'm having the RNY, I never even considered the lap-band because of the amount of weight I needed to lose.

Good info from a other thread I'd like to pass along:

Good morning everyone!

I have gleamed several tips' date=' ideas and overall supportive moments from the support groups I've been attending through St. Vincent Bariatric Center of Excellence where I'll be having my RNY on July 3. Here's one that I thought may be useful to share with you guys as well.

So, Im not sure I have the story completely right, but, here's what I think I know. There's a chef named Chef Woody who has a wife whom underwent RNY surgery. Chef Woody became frustrated with making two different meals every time they sat down to eat so he has created healthy, tasty, bariatric friendly meal that everyone in the family can enjoy! He has a website, www.chefwoody.com where you can get ideas and recipes for all sorts of things that fit your place in the journey. I hope this is helpful!

Peace,

Chris[/quote']

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
