How about some NSVs!?!?

Recommended Posts

2 NSV's today.... Ran into someone I haven't seen in a while and they took a double take because she didn't recognize me. Second one was I went to try on swim suits and fit in a 12/14, so excited

I bought my first bikini in 20 years! Size small on bottom, 32 DD on top. My husband said it looks great but I am still only wearing it in our home pool. I haven't gotten the courage to wear it to the beach yet. I had a circumferential body lift last November and for the first time since puberty my tummy isn't my trouble area!! :)

I had my 6 month post-op appointment today and my NP took all the diagnosis for morbid obesity and obesity off of my chart. It now lists me as overweight!

After seeing my NP on Monday, I saw my family doctor on Friday. Other than my proton pump inhibitor that l'm on for life and a mild pain killer at bedtime for arthritis pain, I have been taken off all my meds! The last two (blood pressure and statin) were discontinued yesterday! I've been on so many medicines for so long, that it really stuns me to just have my supplements to take!

This is one only the ladies will appreciate - today I had to use the tightest closure for my bra. Very exciting! Moving down in the world!

nsvs all over the place! been the same weight for the last three days, so i decided to look at inches (which are sliding off like melted butta) in the form of fitting old clothes...easily slipped a dress that was already tight 3 years ago, tried on a snug but button able 17 jeans (at least 4 years) AND was able to cut the tag off some really cute red ballet flats i bought online a year ago. i know what i'm wearing out tomorrow! woot!

I packed up a lot of clothes and shoes in my closet yesterday to donate. I am only 17 days post op and while some of it was too big (lost some before surgery), some of it was just old stuff that I didn't need to hang on it anymore. I require tall plus size pants which are hard to find, so getting rid of almost all my tall dress pants (which is all I wear to work) was very overwhelming. I did it and don't plan to ever look back. I'll have tall pants tailor made if I have to!

Meanwhile, my actual NSV is that suddenly my stomach has gone down enough that I can bend over and buckle shoes that have a strap around the ankle! I love these shoes but avoided wearing them because it was so hard to twist and get my belly out of the way so I could fasten them. I just wore a lot of slip on / mule type shoes. Can't wait to wear all these shoes now!

I'm so surprised that i was able to walk 21 laps around the track at my sons high school and I wasn't tired at all when I was done. Plus it was 95 degrees outside.

Here's a new one. I went to see my parents at the end of April for the first time since surgery in January, when I was about 70-75 pounds down. My mother took one look at me and immediately burst into tears. She hugged and clung on for a while until she could get control of herself. Mom's always been very petite, and I had no idea how troubled she was by my size until that moment. I'm glad she kept it to herself, but it was also gratifying to see such a strong reaction.

They just came to visit last weekend and were both amazed again at how different I look from April to now (about 105 pounds down in total). When they left, Mom took away 29 grocery bags filled with clothes in size 20-24 for her next garage sale. That's practically an NSV all on its own. Overall, there's nothing like family to give you honest feedback (for better or for worse) on how you're doing. At this point, I'll take it!

Went swim suit shopping. Grabbed a 20 for kicks and it fit. It didn't fit like I wanted it to, but it fit comfortably and that is all that matters. I started my journey squeezing into a 24. I haven't fit into a 20 in almost 18 years.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
