I had surgery May 20 and I'm down 84 lbs :D Best decision I've ever made! But now I'm starting to slip into old habits again! I've been eating out and eating crap foods! I need to break this cycle again! I went through so much and I don't want to gain weight back....why do I go for the crap foods??? Anyone know how to stop the cravings or try and limit them???

I totally understand. I'm not sure if this is the time when we began feeling or thinking we are hungry. My biggest thing is eating a little too much or late night snacking. Like for example I just came home from work and ate some food now I'm gonna have to stay up for at least 3 hours and make sure I go to the gym tomorrow just to make myself feel better.

I think that it could be that we are so happy and excited about our progress that we feel that euphoria from the weight loss...we have to do this....we will succeed!!

Hi all. How is everyone doing these days? Tomorrow will be 5 months for me. Still hard to believe. I am down 93#. The weight is extremely slow now to lose. About 1-2 pounds a week. Have 14 pounds to go to hit my doctors goal. But about 34 to hit my personal goal. Wearing size 14-16 pants now. Still discouraged sometimes when I go shopping. But I know slow will win this race. Strange about food. I haven't eaten anything sweet or fried since surgery. Dumped a few times and not pleasant, so I am staying away. But there are some days I eat just one bite and can't even think about eating anything else. Weird. My doctor is working with me on low potassium and urinary issues, but other than that I feel wonderful. Not exercising as much as I should but I try to walk 2 miles a day at a minimum.

How are the rest of you May group doing lately?

Been a rough journey so far. Lost my best friend a week after surgery. She had motorcycle accident. Lost 3 work friends 2 weeks after going back to work, but still lost 80 lbs. this week I lost my job. I am hoping that being at a normal weight it will be easier to find another job. Started 265 was 185 today. Still want to lose 25 more but things r not on my side I am afraid.

I'm also sorry to hear about your losses. I'm glad to hear about your weight loss however! 80 lbs is great and think it will make things a lot easier to find a job. I've known several people to find good jobs after their weight loss then before so I'm confident you will as well. Keep your head up because something is still on your side as far as the great news with your weight loss so just believe that everything else will work out too.

Oh yeah please share a pic!

That is great mine has slowed down as well and I still would like to lose 50-60 lbs. But I'm confident that if I continue to do what I'm supposed to do ( although it's getting harder) that it can be done.

Wow!! Ya'll are doing great! Mine was May 20 and I'm down 85, but I've been having a hard time staying on track!!! I've started grazing again and I can't seem to get out of that habit.

I've started grazing as well and it's been very hard to stop as well. However today I was perfect! I just got off work so I'm gonna have a shake and go to bed shortly so that I don't mess up my perfect day. I log my food and that does help some because I do feel more in control. Also if I constantly drink Water I'm less likely to feel or think I'm hungry.

Good idea to drink the water! I sometimes struggle with that but been keeping bottles with me so I can drink whenever I feel the urge to eat

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
