REALISTIC WEIGHT LOSS

Recommended Posts

I had the band in 2006 and lost about 120lbs 3 years later my dad passed away and i gained about 20lbs back then in 2010 got pregnant and gained almost 100lbs during my pregnancy then last april i had to have a new band put in because mine had formed a pouch above the band and have gained about 25lbs since then so now i am set to have the band removed and bypass done on april 16th and need to lose 150-200lbs is that realistic? I have heard some say you dont lose as much if bypass is your second WLS ...is that because alot of people have lost some of their weight with the lapband ? I am so nervous about the bypass and am all ready to do it but not so sure if its gonna be worth it if I cant lose at least 150lbs

I'm 5'6 and my doc doesn't seem to think I'll have any issues getting to a 'normal' BMI....even though I'm a revision, I guess we'll see!!! All I know at this point is that even 5 weeks out, it's easier eating post RNY than it ever was with a band!

241....since I've been on here I've started just blabbing numbers I'd never say out loud before :D. I was at my highest 312, in the 290s when I got banded and 225 when my band came out. Gained 30 lbs in the 6 months I was band less so just now getting back to that weight. If I hadn't gained those 30 I'd be <200 for the first time since high school!!!! C'est la vie!!! Christmas with no band was way too enjoyable!!!!!

Let me add I was extremely sick when my band came out, hadn't been able to eat in weeks and was living off of sips of hot tea, was pretty dehydrated. I was running 235-240 before my band prolapsed.

Hi I'm a twice bander with revision to RNY on feb 6th' date=' I have no doubt I will lose the rest of my weight the slower the better is ok with me. The charts they have for height and weight ratio seem to be unrealistic to me. They say I should be 134 for 5ft 5in

Sorry I don't see me getting to that weight. Realistic for me would be 145-150 time will tell.....

Did u lose any weight and keep it off with the band? How much are you hoping to lose with the bypass?

Started at 294, got down to 210 VERY briefly!!!!! I hovered around 240-245 for the last couple years.....so 50 pounds off that stayed off. If I can't get and stay under 175 I will consider this a success....I'd really love to get that 154 though!!!! I just can't picture it!!!!! If I look at it in that light I've only got 50 to go to be where I'd like and 72ish to be normal. That astounds me!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
