I'm up walking and drinking so yay! All went well with my surgery. My only major complaints are that all broth and Jello tastes like snot....seriously, and I just wish I could fart. I'm burping like a drunken sailor though. One last thing, OUCH OUCH! Pain is better today, but when the pain meds wear off...just OUCH!

Gets better every day! FYI do not wait for longer than 3-4 days before you take something if you don't have a BM.

It's been getting better every day Leticia. I didn't have a catheter at all. I was concerned about that, but they don't do them. I had no problems with peeing. I'm 4 days out now and still having some gas pains. Not hungry at all which is nice, but trying to remember to get 64 ounces of Water in is a pain. It is so nerve wracking, yet exciting. You will do great and everyone on these boards have been so wonderful and helpful.

Never had a catheter, so yay for that! Day 4 is feeling better. I'm still having issues wil pain on the left side, but Tylenol helps. My bed is so tall getting in and out of it is comical. I still have trouble passing the gas...not sure why. You will do great...reading these boards have helped tremendously. Everyone is so wonderful and helpful. I'm excited for you. Just get through he first couple of weeks and I hear it gets better. That's what I keep telling myself.

4 days post op today and I cooked Thai food for my family. I ate a sugar free Popsicle. It smells great and they tell me it's good, but I didn't dare try it. It actually wasn't as hard as I thought it would be. It would be great to eat with them, but so far I'm doing ok with it all. I've only had one dose of pain meds today, but it does hurt a bit. I'm trying to stay active so the time passes quicker for me. I'm already missing work, but I can't go back for at least 2 more weeks. I am shocked to have this much energy considering all I've had is sugar free Clear Liquids for days. The human body is an amazing thing.

Really appreciate your open and honest communication. You are also an inspiration as your messages are still positive in light of current discomfort. Keep it up - we're cheering for you. Looking forward to next week and hoping I am as optimistic as you are by this time next week ( 3 days post - op)!

Awwwee...thanks Pammy. I think whining to you guys on here has helped. There are so many people on here that are willing to help with advice and kind words. Knowing we aren't in this alone is half the battle.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
