How long post op can I not swim?

Trying to plan my summer vacation and needing to call for reservations SOON and having my surgery hopefully next month, at the latest early May..

How long can I not go in the ocean or swim?

    I had RNY 2/11 and I've already been cleared to swim.

    I would imagine as long as your wounds are completely healed you should be okay. Risk of infection would be the biggest worry with wounds not fully healed as water bodies are full of bacteria. then second is how active your surgeon will allow. Swimming if fairly low impact so my guess is between 2-4 weeks with wounds completely healed. I would still double check with your surgeon to see what he recommends.
