March 2013 Post Op "A New Life 2013"

Recommended Posts

Down 30 pounds since surgery 3/11/13' date=' but the scale has not moved in days, and I'm trying to remain calm. I'm getting in all my Protein & Water, and my calories are running 500-600, w/ the goal of about 800 per my NUT. I have multiple sclerosis & have not exercised, literally, in years. This week I started low impact water aerobics & chair yoga. Could I be building muscle already? Or am I just being too much of a nut about the scale? I'm trying not to be crazed but failing!![/quote']

Ur fine! There is a whole thread about this. Search "stalled already". I was feeling the same as u. There is all kinds of great advice on there!

Thanks for the advice on throwing up. It was just so scary bc I kept having spasms in my tummy and esophagus. They were very painful. I just had to wait it out. It took about 1.5 hours to go away.

Oh no! I wonder if I did something similar. I bent over Sunday and felt a huge ouch in left side. Since then I have damn near unbearable left side pain near incision. I was going to call the surgeon tomorrow. It's 3 hours away and I'd like to avoid that drive if possible. I'm worried its a hernia or something.

I sure hope you feel better soon.

Did your doctor said Anything ??? because... I'm going thru the something like that .today I'm going to the doctor tomorrow morning . I'm hopping it is nothing bad .

Quick question. My surgery was March 29th. I was advanced to very soft foods yesterday..I can have anything soft enough that you don't have to chew...this morning I wasn't hungry but this afternoon I'm really hungry. Is anyone else really hungry aas soon as they started food!

I spoke with my doc. He said it isn't uncommon to strain the area on the left side if you aren't careful. I was 2 and a half weeks out and decided my dumb ass needed to rake leaves. I had been feeling zero pain before that....now I'm paying or it. The doctor didn't seem concerned about it when we went over the symptoms on the phone. He did say I shouldn't lift etc...until it resolves which could be a couple of weeks. Let me know how your Dr's visit comes out.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
