My Journey has begun

My name is Sharon and my surgery is in two weeks. I had a very easy insurance approval process and extensive pre-op testing. I was never over weight until the past five years and in that time I was diagnosed with metabolic syndrome, hypertension, liver disease, gout, etc. My weight increased over 100 pounds in five years. I am excited to continue this journey and get back to being able to recognize my self when I look in the mirror. I want to do the things I did before the illnesses and weight gain, like walking, playing basketball, playing with my little ones, walking my dogs.......I am going to need encouragement and support from people that understand what I am going thru, that is wy I sought out a forum to join. I hope to eventually be able to pay it forward and help someone else!
