  1. My surgery was Tuesday and my surgeon said the surgery was more difficult than he had anticipated. So needless to say I am so very sore that I can't get out of the chair by myself. I have an area about 4 x 6 inches right above my primary incision that is hard and tender all the way in to my back but I feel a tearing ripping pain when I move and I can't stand up straight. Has anyone else ever had similar problem? That incision has 8 staples in it.

  3. My surgery date is 3-12-13. Everything is complete and I had my preop labs today. I am so excited but I am also fearful!! I have not even told my children I am having the surgery and I don't think I will until post op. I know I would get opposition from them so I choose to not tell anyone and that is why I sought out this forum, for support, encouragement and someone to talk to that knows exactly what I am feeling and then I hope to help others in the same way.
  4. My name is Sharon and my surgery is in two weeks. I had a very easy insurance approval process and extensive pre-op testing. I was never over weight until the past five years and in that time I was diagnosed with metabolic syndrome, hypertension, liver disease, gout, etc. My weight increased over 100 pounds in five years. I am excited to continue this journey and get back to being able to recognize my self when I look in the mirror. I want to do the things I did before the illnesses and weight gain, like walking, playing basketball, playing with my little ones, walking my dogs.......I am going to need encouragement and support from people that understand what I am going thru, that is wy I sought out a forum to join. I hope to eventually be able to pay it forward and help someone else!
