I was 59 when I had bypass surgery; this was a little over 4 years ago. I'm down approx 150-160 lbs from a high of 390. Staying steady -- :O)

There is absolutely nothing wrong. Stalls are normal and discouraging! Hang in there! I'm 52 and had a RNY revision from a sleeve. My loss is definitely slower than when I had the sleeve. My doc says that age and being a revision definitely plays a part in seeing slower weight loss. It WILL come off if you follow your plan.

I'm 52 years

RNY revision on March 12 nearly 8 weeks out

I stalled for a full 2.5 weeks starting on week 2! I cried daily after the first week! Doc said that it was because I was starving at only 300 calories per day and that the loss would start when I was able to add more foods. It did...my loss is slow and steady and I only weigh once per week.

Surgery weight: 235

Current weight: 210

Omg CindeeAt, I had exactly the same experience as you. Once I hit 6 weeks out it started coming off slowly again. It IS the most frustrating thing I’ve dealt with. But if you follow your surgeon/nutritionist ‘s guidelines your body catch up!!!

I’ll be 54 in June
I had my RNY a week ago today! I feel great! Everything I feared was for nothing. I was prepared for the worst, but got the best. So angry at myself for not doing this sooner.
I’m type 2 diabetic. Was on a pump. Came home without the pump, BP meds at 1/2, and no other diabetes meds or cholesterol meds!!

I'm not looking so much for a perfect life with happy days as much as a happy life with perfect days. See if you might agree!

I am 70 and just had it done on Monday. It was a revision from the Gastric Sleeve that I had about 10 years ago.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks
