Hi All,I had my surgery 2 weeks ago today. Had my 2 week follow up today and have lost a total of 25 lbs! I am feeling very well . My only issue is belching. I am not fit company for man or beast! Hope all the other boomers are doing well.

The workshops for April are full. My only hope of getting in is if someone backs out or doesn't come up with the money. Otherwise I'm not getting in till May and they won't submit to insurance till workshops are done. After that I get a surgery date. So PLEASE PLEASE I hope I get in the April workshops. May is so far away and then it may mean a June surgery date... that would be terrible timing.

April workshops are full with no backouts. May it is. My team is wonderful and are trying to get ins. preapproval now so I can get a surgery date within a day or two of completing my last workshop on May 21. Crossing my fingers...

I'll be 50 this year. RNY surgery is April 22. I had all my preop testing done today. It's getting more "real"...It's like a roller coaster ride of mixed emotions :)

70 here. Waiting for a surgery date to get my band out, then wait another six weeks to 3 months to have bypass. So by the time bypass takes place will probably be 71.

Two months out from hiatal hernia repair.  Surgeon said to expect a lot more flatulence...something about the 'air' no longer being able to 'burp' out so comes out the other end.  That is my experience but have no understanding of why that swallowed air cannot be 'burped'. ???

As I understand it since your stomach is smaller and not completely resting against your diaphragm anymore you no longer have the ability to "push" burps out as well. Plus, since its smaller and we don't digest slower the trapped air moves a lot quicker out of the stomach so its no longer available to burp out. Hence the other option for removal.

Anyone had the TORe procedure? How did it go? How much weight did you loose?

Me too girl!! Are you in the full liquid diet right now? It’s sooooo hard!

      2. LadyVeteran1

Not yet. I was told I only have to do 24 hours of a liquid diet. But I have my pre-op tomorrow so I’m going to confirm if I need to do longer.

Down 33 lbs and slightly stalled, but I'm gonna reevaluate and push through. I started back to work last week after 2 years of being disabled due to mental health as well as my weight. It's a great job and I'm just so happy to have this opportunity at a second chance at life. Hope everyone is having their best journey ❤️ Together, we got this!
