My PCP said my best options would be the Nuca Ring or Depo shots, or tubiligation. I chose Depo. He sent a prescription to the pharmacy and wants me to start tomorrow.

I called my surgeons office to make sure it's ok with the upcoming surgery, they said they don't really recommend anything but Norplant for me. She said Depo can cause decreased Calcium.

She didn't say I couldn't take it, and I don't see why I can't just take extra calcium supplements, since I'll be taking them anyway. I don't want Norplant. She just confused me more than ever.

Please, tell me positive things about Depo. I don't care about the issue with having kids after, we probably won't want children anyway. I just need to know this is ok to do.

The nuva ring was ok during week 1 and week 2, but it made me irritable by week 3 and always slipped during urination etc... So I was wayyyy to chicken to try IUD. Now I use new chewable birth control with condoms.
