Such a gross question, but I need to ask.... (nasal drip)

So for about the last week I have had nasal drip. Yup, that lovely flow of snot going right down the back of my throat. I woke up this morning and it felt like my poor little pouch was packed full of it. Upon standing up the heaving started and that's all that came up. So my question is, how do I avoid this? Is there any OTC liquids I can take before going to sleep that will block the drip? My poouch deserves better than a vat of mucus. Blech! Thanks for any help.

That is a question for your doctor.

I usually take Benedryl to dry up my sinuses, but I would definitely check with your surgeon before taking any meds. Wouldn't want some weird pouchy side effects.

I have chronic post-nasal drip- sexy huh! I have found if I sleep with my head elevated, I don't have as many problems, unless my allergies are super bad. You might want to try one of those wedge things. Also, I use a netti-pot and wash that out when it's bad. Kinda hard to get used to but it helps a great deal.
