I just want it to be here already. I have zero patience and I'm the person who gets things done and I can't do anything to move this up :( I got fast tracked in my process with my drs cuz I was so ahead of the game with having things done! Lol he said analysts r so annoying and he wanted me off his back lol :) November 1st was when I came to the decision I was going to do this...and now here I am...21 days and 12 hours away :) how did everyone else decide they were doing the right thing? I literally woke up and it was the first thing I thought of (RNY) and it hit me that this is what I'm supposed to do. I believe God slapped me that morning and said "wake up!! This is your path that I have been pointing you towards and you have been ignoring!!" Lol!

hahahaha, I so relate to your story, my doctor always tells me "calm down, there is enough time to do this and that", and I am ready with paperwork, psych eval, nut eval, etc.. he makes fun of me (in a good way). I also relate to the decision coming out of nowhere, I used to be totally against obesity surgeries as I am good at losing weight when I am seriously on a diet, exercise plan, etc,I've lost up to 110 lbs on diets and exercise but I got sick and tired of gaining it all back, uugghhh... so anyway, I always say, this is God sent, first of all, a change of mind and being 100% convinced this is what I want to do, and having everything ready in no time. My first appt was around Nov 15 thinking I might do this in the summer, but one thing lead to another and here I am ready for March 11 !!!!! so, OMG our stories are sooooo alike!! best wishes in our journey and cheers to the new life ahead of us!!! :D

Just want to introduce myself. My name is Brittney and I'm 25. Been running my butt off completing all my blood work, phyc eval, dietician, sleep studies ect. Got my approval from insurance finally and my surgery is scheduled for march 11!! So happy to finally see the light at the end of the tunnel. I've had a lot of ups and even more downs but I just kept pushing to get to this point. I'm 5'0" and 270lbs. I'm shooting to get down to 130lbs but would love to get to 120! I have an overwhelming amount of weight to loose and I'm fearing failure. I'm also fearing the reality of extra skin! Glad to have found this forum :)

I know the feeling. I am 5'5" and currently weigh 322lbs. Failure is an fear as well as the excess skin. I plan on staying as focused and motivated as possible. I want to gain my life back and really live.

Hi Brittany - I'm also afraid ill fail but be strong...you can do this and have lots of tools and professionals there to help. Use the resources you have available to you and they will help make sure you succeed. I'm nervous about extra skin but I'd rather have that and deal with it later and save to have a Tummy Tuck than to deal with all my extra body weight destroying my joints. Plus my dr said its not a guarantee that you will have any. Well to the group :) happy to have you! I'm going March 6.

My surgery is March 12th. I am lad that for the most part I have been able to do get around and do daily tasks with ease. However at age 33, my life has been pretty limited when it comes to just having fun. I have always loved to go swimming but I feel like I am just stared at when I got to a Water park and I can't even do much but go in the wave pool or lazy river. It has been years since I have been able to ride a majority of rides at an amusement park. I may find one to two rides to go on but that is it. I mostly get stuck with watching everyone else's stuff while they go have fun. My partner has been dying for me to be able to go kayaking with her and I can not wait to finally be able to go and enjoy an active lifestyle with her. One thing I am excited to try that neither of us has done is zip lining. :-)

Yesterday was my pre-admission testing. I am got a call today from the doctor's office. Now that some of the results came in, they want to schedule for an EGD. I was hoping that I was done with tests and felt nervous to have to do another. I know it is a precaution and most likely has something to do with my years of reflux. I just hope all is well and we can still proceed with surgery on March 12th. EGD scheduled for February 28th.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
