I am only 5 days post op, so I had a Protein Shake. I did invent a new recipe, though.

1 chocolate Protein shake

2 tsp. of sugar free cheesecake pudding

A few squirts of sugar free cherry kool aid.

Crushed ice

Blend it all together. It was so yummy! It was like having a chocolate covered cherries in ice cream

I went to the Chinese buffet with a friend whom I used to pig out with. I was worried but needed to test my will power. I had 3 green Beans once piece of broccoli two tiny pieces of chic and 3 shrimp. An hour later after she was done eating I had a half apiece of watermelon. I am very proud of myself. And of my willpower. ;)

I made chili for the first time since surgery and even though I tried to make it super mild...it still seemed spicy. BUT, it seems to be sitting well! 3 oz.

No cheese, no sour cream :( I had lite and fat free versions but didn't want to waste time yet on all that. I tried 2 crackers...but they seemed stale so I gave up on them.

Heaven help me...ribs are a weakness of mine. I might even say my favorite food. I'm a huge fan of BBQ. This is what I'm getting next weekend. Luckly I don't have a doctor that limits beef and pork. :)

I adore BBQ!! Here in NC we have a great BBQ restaurant called Sonny's... I do stay out of there because the sweet sauce was my favorite and I know that would cause me to dump. I have enjoyed a couple church bbqs though. Yum!!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
