What a freakin day. My moms doggies were killed by her neighbors dogs (months after my dad just passed.) through tears we are getting to the hospital for check in now. Hopefully it's not a sign. A little upset with God right now. Enough a enough already. This has been the most unbelievable year for us. Please let him' date=' my daddy, my Momo and all the rest we've lost watch over and help me through this. Thanks for the prayers and good thoughts guys.[/quote']

Ok...so I haven't posted in a really long time, but I have been reading all of the posts on both of our boards. I am so excited for those of you who are doing well and my prayers are still going out for those of you who have had some setbacks.

Just a little update...I had surgery on the 13th and everything seemed to be going well. I got out of the hospital a couple of days later and was at home recovering. The day after I got home I started having a fever and feeling pretty yucky! This went on for a couple of days only because the doctor on call (who wasn't my doctor) said just to not let it get any higher than 102. Anyways, I finally went to see my doctor on Wednesday (6 days out of surgery) and he sent me to have a CT scan to make sure I didn't have an abscess. There was no abscess (so they said) but there was some inflammation.

So...I went back on Friday so I could get my drainage tube and staples out. I was definitely in some increased pain then, but it was just the beginning. For the next two days things progressively got worse. Fever got higher and pain was pretty much unbearable so on Sunday night (Dec. 23) I went into the ER to figure out what was going on. Long night short they did another CT scan and had to go in Monday morning to do surgery so they could open up two places on my abdomen because of an abscess. I still have the holes and my mom has to change the packing twice a day and I am feeling a lot better.

The hardest thing is drinking and eating. With all of the pills I am on it feels like when I take them it counts as eating. I am so tired of taking pills!! I haven't even been able to integrate the other pills I need to be taking now. I am so tired of drinking and "eating". It is such a chore. Nothing tastes good and nothing seems to be appetizing AT ALL!! I'm not exactly sure how I am going to start getting everything in but I am trying my best. I go back to the doctor and to the nutritionist on Jan. 2. Things are looking up and I can’t wait to keep getting better and better!!

I tolerate and drink crystal light. Today I tried the Vitamin water zero - acai-blueberry-pomegranate. First try, I didn't like it at all. But I stck in there and finished the bottle. I had a second bottle. Opened it up tasted it, wow that tasted better than the first one, but still same flavor. Determined that yes, I go like it and it had electrolytes. I forget who recommended the Vitamin Water Zero but I want to say thanks and I'm glad I hung through the first couple drinks of it, lol :-)

Sorry to hear you had recuperation problems but glad you are back on the road to recovery. I know I felt overwhelmed trying to get in all of my requirements but I still stress fluids and required meds over anything else. So easy to get dehydrated. Take baby steps, it will all fall into place. Promise!

I recommended it and glad you are doing good with it. Try fruit punch, tastes a little better than the pomegranate one.

I just kept walking on the inside of my house. Up and down hallways into kitchen and back out again. Anything to get the gas to release. You don't want blood clots so do get moving any way you can!

Praying for you and all the others who have had surgery this month and a couple yet to go in this week. You have been through a lot and it sounds like you are handling it like a trooper, Praying that your wounds heal and you are on the road to recovery.

Lisa I hope you are ok

Hippie Gal you are in my thoughts and prayers as I know this last day or so is so filled with anxiety.

I wonder if anyone has heard from southern girl?

I just hold all of us up in prayer and ask that God help us on this journey, Amen

I'm I'm the east too. I walk around my house. I do use a pedometer from morning to night. It's a good way to keep track of steps, miles, time you've walked. I suggest when you go off your pain meds and feeling like driving, for a change of pace walk around a store, mall, etc. :-)

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
