Wow Gen. Good thing you went for another opinion. I would most definitely let the gyn surgeon know that you have these abscesses & he misdiagnosed you. I would probably call the 1st hospital's Risk Management dept to report the situation. They will conduct an internal investigation. They need to know this happened. I hope you are painfree soon & don't need the drain.

Wow Gen, that's so damned dangerous! Follow up with the first hospitals ethics committee. Don't rest till you get an apology. Who knows what damage has been done to your kidney function?

Trust me I cried when they told me a kidney was basically compromised. Tomorrow they will use the Ct to drain the abscesses, then I should know a day or two later if it helped my kidney. If not then surgery, so they can place a stent from kidney to bladder. I'm very scared.

Thank god your Dad took you to his hospital. That surgeon is a DICK. You definitely need to contact the first hospital. They need to pay for their negligence.

I hope you don't need the stent surgery and that GOD will heal you after the draining of the abscess. Hugs and Prayers.

Take it from me. I've been on dialysis for three years and been having kidney trouble for nine. The kidney is a strong organ. They usually fight back pretty hard. I'm sure once they unblock you and take care of the absess the swelling will go down. We are all praying for your full recovery. God is able to do what even the doctors can't. Happy valentines day to you and I wish you best health.

So new news: last night released from hospital. They said I was fine, CT came back normal, which it actually didn't cuz we were told CT results the night before.

So I was pissed cuz they were releasing me when I still had so much pain. I said fine, called my dad and he said he will take me to his hospital. So I told the hospital I was at fine, release me, I'm going to another hospital. So then they brought my surgeon in which was a waste of time. He just got rude and ask me what test I want him to run. I said any test u have to to make me better. Waste of time. The checked me out at 830pm. I went home slept and my dad took me to his hospital this morn.

Determination: I have an infection below my bladder. 2 abscesses below my bladder. 1 kidney is swollen and ureter blocked.

My surgeon last night told me to go home. Of I had not come back to the hospital and left it as is, I would have became majorly infected possibly loss at least 1 kidney, or who knows what my medical state would have become.

So now I'm on IV antibiotics. Will have abscesses drained tomorrow. Then hopefully 2 days later my kidney will be close to normal. If not, then surgery for a stent to allow kidney to drain into bladder and that surgery is worse case scenario.

Are you kidding me? When the hell are doctors going to allow us to speak for ourselves and follow the information we give to them. Really? I am so upset, how awful for you to be going through all that! I'm sure your medical file must have the HYPOCHONDRIAC stamp on it somewhere.....NOT! Yeesh!

SOUNDS LIKE A BIG FAT LAWSUIT TO ME

Out of all of it I really miss my daughter. This in and out of the hospital is hard. It just brings out a lot of negative emotions for me. About ex and him not caring to take care of his daughter. About everything he's done. But honestly, I think she would rather him not be around. I'm about 140 miles from my daughter and it isn't easy. She said sue them too.

Thank you everyone through this hard time. I'm having difficulty drinking and eating. I'm afraid I've started Hair loss. My Aunt is going to bring me some Isopure peach mangos Protein Drinks tomorrow. Tonight I was able to choose a very good dinner w came to 38 Proteins. Which was good for 1 meal. I just want to feel better and be at home w my baby.

I really wished we would hear from simplySouthern. Quite worried about how she is doing.

Great news and the diabetics of the group will understand this. Went to Dr. today and I am officially off all Meds now and the A1C was 6.9. If I do not lose another pound I have achieved my goal all ready. Even through all of our adversities it is possible to achieve our individual goals through this surgery.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
