Last week when I checked I was down 15lbs. Weighing in again tomorrow...I've been really lazy with the exercise which I know is a no-no, but went walking/jogging yesterday and today. Gotta keep motivated somehow.

My surgery was also 27 and I was down 14 lbs. but just like always with me, I've managed to gain most of that back. I don't get it, everyone kept telling me the weight was going to just "fall off". Ok...well I'd like to know when. I'm so frustrated and very annoyed at myself. I'm still having pain so still on pain meds and can't yet excersize. But I honestly don't understand how somebody can eat so little and not loose or even gain weight. I saw my surgeon on Thursday of last week and he didn't seem concerned, just said that some people loose in different ways, that I should be patient and just get through the recovery phase. This just all seems so wrong to me, I'm so dissapointed and wish I never put my body through all this. Sorry, just venting.

I'm glad your doing well, please keep posting pic's, you look great!

Hey Kerrie I know what u mean, I actually expected to lose more by now. I tend to compare myself to everyone else. I have a friend who had the surgery almost 2 yrs ago and she lost almost 40 pounds the first month! I spoke to her this week and told her I had only lost 15 so far. She said as most people do that everyone is different and we're still healing so we shouldn't be so hard on ourselves. I'm sure once we're working out and feeling better we'll be able to lose more. But I'm hanging in there with you!!! :)

Hi Kerrie Ann

I was on the 27th too. Only down 13 pounds since surgery. I am so frustrated. Following the diet and walking and getting 80 grams of Protein and 64 oz of liquids. Saw surgeons last week and they were not concerned. Said some lose fast and some slower. He said that I will all of a sudden see a rapid loss in a couple of weeks. I go back to work on Monday and I am scared that since I haven't had a big loss that I wont once I am back at work.

Everyone has there own journey though and everyone's body is different. But...it's only been 2.5 weeks and I can bet even all the Water weight and swelling isn't gone. You're body needs time to heal. While healing it will sometimes retain Fluid to do so. If you're sipping your Water and getting the right amount of Protein in......the weight will come off. Oh I know all too well how we can't help looking at how everyone else is doing and comparing ourselves but, it's a terrible path. It really is true that each journey is different. I'm a notorious slow loser on any diet so the doubt is hard to push away but, as my surgeon said....if you're following the eating and exercise plan, I've never seen it not work. I trusted her with my life during surgery so I trust her words now.

Take it easy on yourself....be kind to yourself......and most of all be patient. YOU are SO worth YOUR effort! Go for it! :)

Hugs

Hi 8/27 surgery buddies! I just wanted to thank all of you for you kind words of support. This is a journey and many of you are correct in saying my body needs time to heal and that it takes time to loose weight. I truly appreciate each on of your comments. At this time I'm trying to pay less attention to the weight loss number and my scale and more attention to getting in my Protein and fluids. Again thank you all.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
