Lost My Best Friend

Recommended Posts

Thanks everyone. She was going to take my kids to the beach this week so I planned on having it a little easier for my second post op week. But I am actually really glad that they are home with me for some quality time.

One thing that has made it easier is this site/app. I've stayed off Facebook so I don't see her on there (we went to hs together so have lots of mutual friends).

Life will go on!

I completely understand! I lost my best friend of 28 years and my husband (of 5 years) in the same night! I called her to vent because I thought he was cheating and come to find out he was, with her. Needless to say my world came crumbing down that night, but I made it thru it; just as you will make it thru this. It is hard to deal with, it makes time to think about life and refigure everything, but just remember their is a reason some people come in your life and there is a reason people exit your life. There is a plan for you! Don't worry and keep your head up! I made it thru and you will too! :) We are here if you need to vent or chat! :)

Gagirl!!! Big hugs.....

Well I also lost my best friend 5 years ago and I still miss her terribly. As more time passes I pray for the chance to bump into her and try again, but it hasn't happened. I think of her all of the time and miss our friendship. My life has needless to say completely changed, and I wish I had her by my side to share the journey. BUT I believe people are in your life for a time.

I have since made some great new friendships and good bonds but... Que sera sera!

I wish her all the best in life and keep strong on my path.

It's hard I know.... Especially in the things you share. Insides jokes, fav foods, and family. But work in you girl. I'm so sorry for your loss, and all of us like her who have lost a great friend.

Surgery date 7/25/12

No I walked away and let her have him! I have no idea how long it was going on; don't want to know either! I filed my divorce papers and kicked him out!

Lost my best friend last spring as well. I live in a small town so unfortunately I still have to deal with her snootiness and her above all otherness as there is only one school and both our girls are in the same grade and some extra curricular activities. I just try to blow it off even though it still hurts some times & I have made some of the best changes for the good in my life since then. Not only my RNY but I have met some amazing new friends!

On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
Soooo I am coming to a realization
of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
