I'm New! Gastric Bypass Surgery On June 27Th!

Hey everyone! I'm super excited to come to this forum! I see a lot if support here! I've gone through all the exhaustion and stress of getting everything together and approved by insurance and now I'm just waiting until the 27th! I'm so ready for this change!!

I'm 28 and live in Concord, NC. I'm married with two toddlers and work for the NC Dept of Public Safety in Adult Corrections. I've struggled with weight most of my life ...especially since my sophomore year if high school. I'm at my heaviest now at 256 lbs and 5'4.

I look forward to sharing my journey with you!

It's hard to truely understand what we go through unless you have ever walked a mile in our shoes (or not been able to for that matter!). All you can really do is hope those people will come around on

Hi! My surgery is on 6/19. I have not told anyone except my husband ( who is very supportive) and my (adult) kids and of course my boss. I'm afraid of what my friends and other family will think, or say. I probably should not think that way, but I do.

Just don't tell anyone then. Some people are open like my self & others are private. Nothing wrong with that. If the questions come up as you lose weight say I'm doing weight watchers or diet & exercise. They will stop asking.
