October 100 Mile Challange!

Recommended Posts

I don't know if I would have had the will power to throw it away' date=' good for you! I ate 2 bites of pumpkin pie guts over the weekend, no crust just the filing. I think I saw a recipe somewhere for making it with Protein added. Gonna have to look for that.

I crochet, and enter a toy dragon that I made this summer.

That is the cutest little dragon. I love it!

Just added 2.77 state fair waking miles for a total of 9.77 miles for me today which is my high number since I started this :). Total for the month is 34.77. Sent from my iPhone using VST

Forced myself out to walk 1.5 miles today. Hurting but hey, I'm now to 36.2 miles.

I got in some good running today.

+ 4.5 miles (3.5 of them being 6 min and under miles)

1600 m warmup (8 min) - not too fast.

For time:

Run 3200 m (2 mile)

30 Burpees

30 Thrusters 95#/65#

Time : 16:10

When the running clock reaches 18:00, complete the following for time:

Run 1600 m (1 mile)

20 Burpees

20 Thrusters 95#/65#

Time: 7:20

When the running clock reaches 25:00, complete the following for time:

Run 800 m (1/2 mile) - all out sprint

10 Burpees

10 Thrusters 95#/65#

Time: 4:50

This was one of the hardest workouts I have done in terms of stamina and endurance. Felt good afterwards, but worn out. :) I worked out with 2 others and we were all looking worn afterwards. ;)

You know, my favorite time of the day is about 10 m after I get home, taking a hot shower. Feels so good. I also do some contrast showers, but not every day.

What's wrong? Definitely take the time to recoup if you are not feeling good. This challenge will still be here when you come back strong. Hope you feel better soon. :)

Walked 3 miles today and just finished a 4 mile bike ride. That puts me at 81.5 miles to date. Feeling great and I hope everyone else is as well! Everyone is doing great!

Couple diff things going on. The RA wants to come flare on me so I'm fighting that. My thyroid meds were too high now that I've lost weight. So I was almost strung out and hyper and therefore short of sleep. As soon as that was figured out I had to go off them for a bit and I crashed hard. Depressed, exhausted, worn out. So now on new dosage which hasn't kicked in. Everything hurts, feel like I have the flu and work is insanely busy, so worn out that way too.

All the things you don't think about when you blithely run off to get WLS.

Oh dear, that does not sound like a good place to be in. I hope your body stabilizes to the new regimen of the RA, thyroid meds soon. How long does it take for those changes to work themselves out?

Well the macho me believes it only takes as long as it does for me to man up, suck it up, and get on with it. :) but I suspect I will feel better within 2-3 days with the thyroid and then I'll be in cancun with my husband so I'll stop caring anyway! Thanks for asking.

Hello everyone, i just picked up on this thread and would like to join the fun! I am pre op but working on getting in better shape before surgery. Since the month is half over, I will target 50 miles by the end of month. Did 5.5 miles after work today on the recumbent bike.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.
