I was given the socks with treads and just wore them for the 2 days there. I walked the halls with them on too. I don't have an iPad but did have my iphone. I was barely on it since I was pretty out of it the first day and only used it briefly the second day. Everyone is different so you may want to bring it just in case!! My nurses were always checking on me and doing vitals several times during the night. But I was too out of it for them to have bothered me. Good luck to you! Each day seems to be getting a little better!!

Okay, so I was given the non slip socks, but I found some nice fuzzy ones at Wal-Mart in a two pack for 3 dollars. It was worth it to me. As far as bringing a ipad or anything. That's your call I was sleeping most of the time I was there and didn't even think about ipads or anything. I had my cell phone and that was good enough. Your going to be tired from the drugs and they are going to have you walking. Best of luck! I would make sure you bring chapstick!! That was a must for me.

I used my ipad the whole time. Hardly got any sleep bc I was constantly in pain/ waiting for pain meds. I'd be good the first hour after my dose but then the next hour I was counting down. I set an alarm on my phone to help remind me to ask for my meds.

allons-y

At least your incision is above your belly button, they did mine inside! That's most painful incision so far

My most painful is the one where the drain was and the one below the drain site. The one below the drain site is where he took the stomach out, he said it will be more painful bc there are a few stitches closing some of the abdominal muscle.

How do I find our fbook group ?

My cut on the left side is the most painful. He said that's where they pulled my stomach out. I thought this morning it was going to be a good day, I spoke to soon. Feeling so much gas and its making me puke when I sip a little bit of Water. Anyone else feeling this.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
