Questions, I have questions. Not about the pre surgery diet or anything like that, but our Facebook group. Can our regular Facebook friends see our posts. I am hesitating saying anything there till I find out. I have some real life friends who are "Negative Nellies" and I don't need negativity before surgery. Lovely people but have a hard time saying encouraging words.Let me know if what I post or responses to your posts are private please.

One week today I will be sleeved! Mixed feelings because I have never had any kind of surgery and I am really nervous. As for the 10 pre-op diet it is a ton easier then I thought it would be especially with going to two birthday parties and the big Game... Oh and working! I am having mixed feelings because I am a single parent and it makes me worry about my son. I just hope and pray everything turns out well.

Hi! Good luck! I have never had surgery either, so I can relate. Being a single mother is never easy...been there...things will be so much better with weight loss. I wish you the best of luck!

I have BCBS and have met all requirements. How long is it taking ppl to get approved? My Doc said 48-72 hours???? If he is like the Docs I work for he has no real idea!

Bamagirl, I'm BCBS as well, and it really was under 72 hrs. I got the call to schedule, then a week later got the insurance letter, which I kept.

Hi Novembers! I was sleeved on the 4th and am doing great. It was easier than the pre op diet, but had its own challenges. The day of, I don't remember much. The next day was worse, lots of abdominal pain, especially getting up and moving around. Moving around also made me pretty nauseated. they gave me a lot of meds for nausea which helped. I think it was the pca morphine pump that contributed to the nausea. Since I've been off the meds, I've felt better. Ive got timers going for walking and sipping. Welcome to my new timed life, at least for a little while. #SkinnyArmy!

I know exactly what you mean. I'm set for some sort of full liquid Armageddon, with stockpiles of pudding and ff cream Soups, plus buckets of Protein Powder. Friday I'll start stocking up for the rest of my family. How are full liquids going? I start Sunday and am feeling like a fruitcake already.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

So proud of you Cat. Getting into those smaller size clothes is half the fun isn't it?. Keep up the good work!!!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...
