Has anyone had their bloodwork come back positive for H. pylori?

I am now on 3 bottles of meds for this.

Yes I just found out I have it. I havent had my script filled because I am having to get the doc to revise it. The pills are too HUGE! I found out because she said my stomach had inflammation when they removed it and pathology came back postive. It made me nervous because I know it can lead to ulcers and with what little tummy we have we don't need ulcers. The treatment is suppose to get rid of it though. Did you have symptoms? I have mild unexplained nausea for little over a year. My PCP never tested me for it so it went undiagnosed until surgery.

I wonder if I have this. I have random nausea and lately, my upper stomach just hurts. I'm preop, so this is just my regular ole stomach. Hmm...

I tested positive twice for h-pylori. I know have to go to a gastroenterologist to see what's going on with my stomach. I never was tested by my PCP and if I was not going for this surgery I don't know how long I would've had this issue. I have not shown any symptoms of having this. Hopefully this doesn't derail my gastric sleeve procedure.

Wow, this is something I never heard about! Just when I thought I was becoming a bit of an expert on this whole surgery process I'm realizing I still have a lot to learn! Now to go Google that H word...

My labs came back positive and I had to take a 14 day prevpac. Those meds tasted nasty. I got through it and had to do another follow up test. That follow up test was nothing nice. lol

Wow....I was just about to make a post on this topic and opened up the forum and saw this.

I was told today that I had H. pylori infection and that it came back on the labs I took in July. I was upset because the prior surgeon I had never brought it up at all (good thing I'm changing surgeons).

He put me on a Prepak but my insurance doesn't want to pay for it so they are getting a preauthorization for it. If not he will have to switch me to something else.

I did some reading and found out that 2/3 of the population is infected with it (most don't have any symptoms, like myself).

Glad to know that I'm not alone on this.

Actually looking forward to my upper Gi. I have to wait until November, though. My stomach hurts with random nausea. I've had heartburn since my gallbladder was removed last year. Although I'm already on Protonix 40 mg daily, acid has been increasing. Really want to get the H. pylori checked out and see what the upper GI finds. It will be a long month and a half!

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
