My opinion like are don't like it .. It is what it is I'm at goal matter fact 6 pounds under at 7 months 100 that in 5 months 14 pounds away from normal Bmi I don't care what you track we could not have done it with out the sleeve I'm not saying it not possible to loss that much what with out it I'm saying in the time frame we loose it .. But to each its own I just think friend was being honest ..

Congratulations on making goal! That's so exciting and you should be very proud of yourself. I am almost 4 months out and I have no doubt that I will get to where I want to be because of this tool that I chose to utilize.

That said, weight loss can be done without the sleeve, it's just a lot harder to maintain. In turn, weight gain CAN occur with the sleeve if we don't do what we are supposed to do. What are we supposed to do? Make good choices and exercises. It's hard work and it's mental as much as it is physical. The sleeve is a tool to facilitate weight loss but it is NOT the solution. WE are the solution, some of us just need a little more help getting there.

Lady? Are you getting a little testy because I don't agree with you? That's amusing.

I am not "speaking" for anyone. She was offended/hurt by what her "friend" said and I can empathize with that. You agree with her friend and that's your choice. No one is speaking for anyone, we are simply exchanging ideas. No need to get ugly about it. :D

Thanks for the compliment but weightloss surgery will always bee seen as a cop out to many in the world because we have ppl that keep it a secret out of fear what others think yes others think the say its no one business but the cone on Internet site and tell it all to other strangers I've share all my success and help three different women who knew about surgery but didn't kno how to go about it if you want to keep it to yourself fine but don't go around all righteous like diet and exercise got you here because that's bull I walked that's it I don't track my food I didn't really have to do anything to be honest and I'm down 120 pounds in 7 months who could do that with out the sleeve ..

I don't think WLS is a cop out and those who do don't bother me a bit. I don't care if you choose to tell everyone and if someone else chooses to tell no one. It affects me NONE either way. I've never been one to care what other people think because their opinion of me is none of MY business. Your little jabs and insults are meaningless to me as they are much more telling about you than reflective of me.

You don't have to agree with me about anything, but do not put words in my mouth. Never did I say that exercise and diet got me to where I am today. You stated that NO ONE could lose weight as fast as we are now because YOU failed at it and I pointed out that you are wrong. It's possible, it's just really hard to do and even harder to maintain.

WLS won't guarantee a maintain either. Forming good habits now while my tool is most effective is will guarantee my success, and for me, that includes tracking and exercising. If you don't need to do that, that's fantastic!

I have no need to argue with you nor will I. Continue on and I wish you best success on maintaining your loss.

I had surgery 7 weeks ago and have lost 36 lbs. I have been blessed to not have any negative comments. The best compliments I have gotten:

"I'm so proud of you!" ~ My amazing husband!

"My wife is hot!!" ~ From my awesome husband while I've worn a nice dress or basketball shorts and a shirt. He always called me beautiful and complimented me but because I am gaining more confidence and letting it show I think he feels more free to make a comment like that and know that I will receive it in a positive way and believe him.

"Skinny Mini!" ~ From a number of people at my church.

"How is my favorite skinny Puerto Rican?" ~ From my neighbor Joe. He always called me his favorite Puerto Rican (Though I'm pretty sure I'm the only Puerto Rican he knows!!) but he added the skinny on there recently.

7 Weeks Post Op - 36 lbs down!

I do not agree that I should tell anyone other than who I told. One thing about success is everybody is not happy for you. I love my beastie but she did the same when our other friend had lap band. My doctor said to leave the nay Sayers alone so I did. I choose this route because it was the best for me and I didn't need anyone to help me decide. I told my husband I was doing not could I do it. He was not the one living with my health problems so....with that said, my health decision was my own. I don't need anyone to agree or disagree with my decision cause they were not gonna change my mind. I did the research, went to the seminars and all doctors visits on my own except for the one that my husband was required to go. I'm glad I did it and wouldn't change it for the world. I am healthier and happy and my husband is dating a new woman (me 50 lbs less). My kids see how much better I feel and they are happier so all in all I know I made a good decision. Who knows or doesn't know shouldn't matter. What matters is by doing something positive and working out and making good food choices my family may not have to bury me before my time.

So far I'm 3-1/2 weeks out and down 25 lbs.

worst "compliment" so far was from my gay hairdresser Scott who's been doing my hair for over 9 years and knows all my secrets and insecurities.... He said to me over the weekend, "well at least now you might actually get laid once in a blue moon by that husband of yours... And just think, you might not even have to suck his %#€£ first!"

I literally got up outof the chair and called him an a*****e and about walked out... But he apologized and begged me to stay.

If he wasn't the best damn colorist I've ever known I would have taken my chubby ass on home. Oh the price we pay to feel beautiful....

Blue - Thanks for one of the best laughs I have had in a long time. I know what you mean about a good colorist! They have to be tolerated...the cost of beauty.

Congrats on your weight loss and best of luck on your continued journey.

Glad I could make you laugh Cassie! I was so upset at the time but in hindsight I'm not sure why I was suprised or shocked by the comment.... After all, he's never had a filter in the 9 yrs I've known him and that's honestly one of the things I enjoy about him most!

So ya, my hair looks great and at this rate, my body should be catching up with my hair in the next 6-9 months!! And hopefully he's right, maybe I'll be getting lucky more often and with less, umm.... "effort" on my part!! Lol.

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.
Just for fun last week, I ran two 5Ks in two days, something I would have never done in the past! Next goal is a 10K before the end of this month.

Hi everyone, I wrote back in May about having no strength. I still get totally exhausted just walking from room to room, it’s so bad I’m using a walker with wheels of all things. I had the gastric sleeve Jan. 24th. I’m doing exactly what the programs says, except protein shakes. I have different meats and protein bars daily, including vitamins daily. I do drink my fluids as well.  I go in for IV hydration 4 days a week and feel ok just til evening.  So far as of Jan 1st I’ve dropped 76 lbs. I just want to enjoy the weight lose. Any suggestions or has anyone else gone thru this??  Doctor says just increase calorie intake, still the same.

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️
