Well, I wasn't sleeved when I had my daughter just over 6 months ago (I had my sleeve done when she was 4 weeks old) but I only gained 23 pounds during my entire pregnancy and she weighed almost 10 when she was born. Most of what I put on I put on in the last 2-3 months. I stayed pretty steady for the first 4 months or so then gradually started going up. My baby girl is healthy as can be now. I have a cousin who is a tiny thing that didn't gain a pound during her pregnancy and had a completely healthy baby. As long as you are eating like you should and exercising, then you and the baby should be fine :) Congratulations and good luck!!!

I'm 16 weeks pregnant and I bounce in a 4 lb range with really no gain or loss. It can move as simply from just going to the bathroom. As I only have a bowl movement every 4 days. (TMIsorry) but its fine I lost weight with my morning sickness too. I'm think tops is 25lbs will be my weight gain. With my two pre sleeved pregnancy 35 lbs so that even wasn't that bad. :) congrats btw!

I am 7 weeks an I was sleveed 17 months ago so my weight had pretty much stabalized. I was 180 when I found out I was carrying 3 weeks ago last week I was up 5 pounds to 185 an as of today Im down three pounds 182. I have no morning sickness so not sure of the reason for the loss. I was told 15 to 20 pounds so well see. I snack all day because Im always hungry but I am mindful of what I eat an I still cant eat alot so I also continue to work out when I can keep my eyes open lol just to stay on top of the weight gain. Congrats all its nice to know im not alone.

hihi!! im 12 wks and have lost 18 lbs since finding out I was prego. I have extreme morning sickness but eat as much as possible when not sick. I just hit 167 with a 86lb loss from surgery in feb. 1st time in my life I am actually TRYING to gain weight. its bizarre. im told by drs that the baby will be fine and will take everything from you and that we (as in moms to be) are the ones who will suffer. with all this knowledge I am still nervous. let's keep each other informed!! good luck with your pregnancy's!!!

TRUE! Anyone with bariatric surgery should have serial growth scans to be sure their baby is growing well, and beyond that just eat healthy. As long as your baby is growing well, no worries! No weight gain needed! Bariatric surgery patients also should have the Vitamin levels checked due to problems with absorption. Even with lap band and sleeve procedures. Hope this helps!

I'm 34 weeks preggo.... I have lost a total of 19 lbs since finding out I was preggo. I have gained 2 lbs one month and the next minth it will be gone. But overall I have not gained any weight. I was only 4 months post op when I got preggo... I have had several ultrasounds through out my pregnancy anf my baby boy is completely healthy and right on target with his size and weight. This is my 4th child and the healthiest pregnancy out of them all! ( he was also a surprise.... we had no intentions of having anymore kids, our youngest is 6) I'm absolutely excited to meet our little man and really excited to get in the gym after I have him... I feel I haven't even had the chance to enjoy my weightloss since I got preggo so soon afterwards. I have lost a total of 80lbs and have about 40 more to get to goal... I think that will be easy after I have the baby! : ) good luck with your pregnancy!

I did not... my obgyn just done a lot and I was in the hospital for a kidney stone and got one in there also. But I'm sure if you address your concerns with your doc he will schedule an ultrasound. My ob is not familiar with the gastric sleeve so maybe that's why he did more than usual?

      April Surgery
Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞

Iʻm roughly 6 weeks post-op this morning and have begun to feel like a normal human, with a normal human body again. I started introducing solid foods and pill forms of medications/supplements a couple of weeks ago and it's really amazing to eat meals with my family again, despite the fact that my portions are so much smaller than theirs.
I live on the island of Oʻahu and spend a lot of time in the water- for exercise, for play,  and for spiritual & mental health. The day I had my month out appointment with my surgeon, I packed all my gear in my truck, anticipating his permission to get back in the ocean. The minute I walked out of that hospital I drove straight to the shore and got in that water. Hallelujah! My appointment was at 10 am. I didn't get home until after 5 pm.
I'm down 31 pounds since the day of surgery and 47 since my pre-op diet began, with that typical week long stall occurring at three weeks. I'm really starting to see some changes lately- some of my clothing is too big, some fits again. The most drastic changes I notice however are in my face. I've also noticed my endurance and flexibility increasing. I was really starting to be held up physically, and I'm so grateful that I'm seeing that turn around in such short order.
My general disposition lately is hopeful and motivated. The only thing that bugs me on a daily basis still is the way those supplements make my house smell. So stink! But I just bought a smell proof bag online that other people use to put their pot in. My house doesn't stink anymore.

Oh yeah, something I wanted to rant about, a billing dispute that cropped up 3 months ago.
Surgery was in August of 2023. A bill shows up for over $7,000 in January. WTF? I asks myself. I know that I jumped through all of the insurance hoops and verified this and triple checked that, as did the surgeon's office. All was set, and I paid all of the known costs before surgery.
A looong story short, is that an assistant surgeon that was in the process of accepting money from my insurance company touched me while I was under anesthesia. That is what the bill was for. But hey, guess what? Some federal legislation was enacted last year to help patients out when they cannot consent to being touched by someone out of their insurance network. These types of bills fall under something called, "surprise billing," and you don't have to put up with it.
      https://www.cms.gov/nosurprises
I had to make a lot of phone calls to both the surgeon's office and the insurance company and explain my rights and what the maximum out of pocket costs were that I could be liable for. Also had to remind them that it isn't my place to be taking care of all of this and that I was going to escalate things if they could not play nice with one another.
Quick ending is that I don't have to pay that $7,000+. Advocate, advocate, advocate for yourself no matter how long it takes and learn more about this law if you are ever hit with a surprise bill.
