Hi Sleeve Fans,

I was sleeved on the 21st. So far so great!! I did start out slow I spent 4 days in the hospital because I couldn't pass that gas. I think it was the pain meds. Because as soon as I stopped them the gas flowed and now I feel great. I am on the soft diet now, it is so much easer then the pureed. My NUT said it was fine as long as my stomach could tolerate it. I started 2 days ago so far so good, getting plenty of Water, Protein and all Vitamins. I feel so fortunate because after 4 day in the hospital I was scared I screwed up.

I've seen a lot of posts about good tasting protein. If you like chocolate Milk then you need to try " GOLD STANDARD 100% WHEY". The Manufacture is OPTIMUM NUTRITION. It is pure whey protein isolates it taste grate. I mix it with 8oz of nonfat milk, put it in a Blender Bottle and it mixes smooth. It is so good my 8 year old son even likes it and he don't like anything. With the milk it gives you 32g of Protein, if you mix with water it 24g Protein. You can find it at GNC or Vitamin Shoppe but I see it everywhere. It is much cheeper then Isopure about half the cost. I hope this helps and thanks for listening.

They say on average it takes about 15 lbs to drop a dress/pants size. Has anyone been shopping for new clothes yet? Right now, my pants are only slightly looser, I can't wait to start shopping for new clothes though.

I was sleeved on the 20th, and I have already moved down from a tight 26 at the start of this process to a solid 22 at the time of surgery to a perfect 18!!!! I have only lost about 30 lbs, but I am assuming I have lost inches at this point. If I weren't in the middle of a move I would take my measurements, but my tape measure is in a box somewhere!!!!

I'm from KY. Had my sleeve done on August 28th. Also had 2 hernias repaired and lap band taken out. Just got to stage 2 of the diet. Having a hard time adjusting to not feeling hunger pains (like I've lost communication with my stomach) and not being able to eat real food. I went through a similar diet after lap band 5 years ago' date=' but this seems much different. I can't stand not being able to drink to quench my thirst. Things taste weird. Things smell different. These weird and different smells and tastes make me feel like I want to throw up. I can't find a Protein that I like, but someone has suggested Isopure, so I'm going to check it out this weekend. I think I used the chocolate isopure powder after my lap band and liked it. I am scared about this. I knew it would be a change, but I'm worried I'm never going to be able to sit down to a normal (albeit smaller portioned) meal with my family some day. Does it get easier?[/quote']

Hi there! I was sleeved on the 19th and it DOES get easier! I had/having a hard time with everything you mentioned and it seems every day gets easier. I actually felt like I was mourning the OLD Jenn, the Jenn that likes food and the celebration if it. I just wanted to feel normal again and had second guessed my decision. I don't feel that way anymore. Everyday it gets better. I am still trying to quench my thirst - that one is hard! But mentally I am feeling stronger. I went to lunch with my husband yesterday and it wasn't like old times but felt nice to be able to order some mush (refried Beans, sour cream and quac) and eat out. Even if I only took 5 tiny bites and was full! I missed food and eating w my family too. I am on soft/mushy and I just throw whatever I make them into my ninja with a little but of broth and its what I eat too. Sans rice Pasta bread etc.

You can do this! Eat to live and not live to eat is my new motto!

You and I eat alike... how are you doing?[/quote']

Smm,

I just can not seem to stop sweating. I mean cold sweat! Everyday is so different. I am eating cream of wheat with Greek yogurt, juicing 2-3 times a day and last night I made home aid chicken and barely Soup. I then packed it in zip lock with 1/4 cup in each bag,,, I got down about 3 tables spoon.

The fatigue is still hanging around .... Hard to get out and walk. I get winded really easy . Sorry , I do not mean to be a whinner,

Any advice

I've always been a sweater, but lately I've been drenched in sweat. Eww. Nights are the worst. My doc says the surgery sometimes screw up hormones. He told me to make an appointment with the metabolic doc to check my thyroid and blood levels.

I had surgery August 27th, stayed in the hospital for three days. I am still taking pain meds but the pain is getting better, still having deep pain on my left side and I am so tired of only laying on my back, but it hurts to lay on my sides. I am eating thin cream of wheat or oatmeal and it seems to go down fine, just have to eat slowly, so I bought a coffee cup warmer and let my food stay there until I am done, that way it stays nice and warm. Looking forward to this pain being gone.

I had surgery the 20th and only spent a night in the hospital. Slept the first week. Doctor put me on pureed that Friday, started on soft that Monday (one week). Was worried about it bit didn't have any pains.

I do have a couple of issues, one being gas. I still get a lot of gas and it comes up when I eat or drink. Very anything but not painful.

Second issue is I feel like I can eat more than I should so it almost feels like I didn't have surgery. It doesn't help that I've already stalled even though I'm donning enough Water and being my Protein in. This part is the most frustrating. I almost wish the doc had kept me on fluids longer.

Right there with you. I also feel like I'm eating too much and the hunger pains are tolerable. Just got to keep getting in the fluids and Protein. Good luck!

kathie, love the coffee warmer idea! It take me about an hour to finish a 1/4 cup of what ever I am eating.

I hope you are well soon

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

That's brilliant! You've done amazing!! I should probably think about changing my profile picture at some point. Mine is the doll from Squid Games. Ironically the whole premise of the show is about dodging death. We've both done that...

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?
