4 days and a wake up!

Getting sleeved on Sept 4th. Really excited and really nervous at the same time. All of my pre op prep is done and I am on my 3rd day of my pre op diet. It's easier than I thought until I came home today and had nothing to do! It seems like all I'm thinking about is food and watching TV is murder! All they show is food and commercials for more food. Aargh!! Just venting...are there any other sept sleepers out there who has started their pre op diet?? What are your thoughts? What are some of your fears about the surgery?

My biggest fear is stretching my new sleeve out and gaining the weight back!!! That is a huge fear...

Lol...don't hurt em'! Thanks...one more day. Tomorrow at 945am is going to change my life forever! I'm excited...

I'm scheduled for the 4th as well!! It can't get here soon enough. My biggest fear' date=' sounds kind of silly, is being thirsty. I love Water which is a good thing but I can easily down 16+ ounces after a workout. Obviously after surgery I won't be able to and that's honestly my biggest worry. I don't want to be thirsty and not be able to drink.[/quote']

Wow, I wish that I had that issue. One of my fears, and I have a few is being dehydrated. I have a problem with drinking water. Pray my strength and we have just a little over 24 hours until that time. I wish you luck and my prayers for a speedy recover!

Ok today is 9/6 and I am 2 days post op. alittle sore but most of all I can't keep down alot. I had surgery on 9/4 and was supposed to be home oh 9/5 . Thinks didnt work out. Still vomiting the pain meds so I think I will stop taking it and deal with the pain. I can't deal with the feeling sick. Water is hard to drink and cramps are always present when I do. I try and listen to my body and sipping is all I can do. No mater what, I'm swallowing air and I can feel every bubble. I pray and hope that things get better and I can keep things down better! Thanks for all the advise on this forum!

Hi Nikki!! How are you feeling today? I had surgery on the 4th as well. For me, it is far less painful to sip hot tea or coffee. It's very uncomfortable to drink cold or straight out of the fridge. My water has to be room temp. Have you tried Gas Z Strips, those have also made things a bit easier. I hope today is much better for you.

Thanks Val! The first few days were not fun but I have kept down everything. I have gas x strips but have not had to use them yet! I am able to hold down cold and warm now. Feel awesome! However, I tried to do some walking this morning and got to the edge of my drive way and wanted a nap! I was so out of breath! I had walked that trail so many times...I was very disappointed. :(

That was my biggest fear too!!! I knew I would not be able to even have a sip of water until the next day after surgery.

Everything went fine. Even in the recovery room, they gave me a cup of ice water and a swab for my mouth. I brushed my teeth everytime I got up to go to the bathroom and have mouthwash to keep my mouth feeling fresh.

It was absolutely a non issue. I think one other thing that helped is that I was getting fluids the whole time so my body felt very hydrated.
