October Sleevers - Who else

B2B. Not even sure what my surgeons instructions are regarding weight training, but I am not too jazzed for it since there is only 1 gym within 40 min of where I live and it is SOOOOO not cost effective at all. I am going to have to fumble at home guided by you tube videos.

So jealous. I'm not allowed to weight train per my postop instructions until 6 months out! Only walking 60-90 minutes every day and add abdominal exercises at 2 months. It seems like a long time to wait to lift weights right? {)i(} Sent from my iPhone using VST {)i(}

ya but it seems every doctor is different i was told i cant have puree foods till 1 month after surgery and solids after 2 months how ever i know ppl who had complications and are able to have them after only 6 days post op my surgeon cleared me 3 days after my surgery for any and all workouts no restrictions due to me having no pain nothing he says quote i looked like a rockstar i will tell you ive already started reg foods because i feel my body will tell me what i can handle and so far im ok its made getting Protein in easyier because i eat salmon cottage cheese and other high protein things i just wont tell my doc i started early lol

OMG!!! Going back to work (I'm a hair stylist) was soooo much harder than I thought it would be. I am two weeks out as of Mon, sleeved on the 21st. I've been feeling great but yesterday really set me back. I'm afraid it's going to be a really long week.

You might be doing yourself a favor with the YouTube videos since gyms are so expensive. What did we do before YouTube? I want the benefit of a trainer to have a person to be accountable to. I also don't know about waiting 6 months to do lower body weights. Everything will be flab if I don't get in the gym!

My most satisfying "meal" since surgery: 1 crusket with a spread of soft avocado and a slice of ham. Mmmm. Nom, nom, nom :D

How are you eating that I was sleeved 28/10 and still having trouble with runny mushy food

Well I was sleeved on 10/11/13 and I've pretty much been eating salmon,chicken breast heck I had half of a 6 inch sub from sub way only thing I have issues with is bread due to my baby stomach being so small and filling so quick

      On day 4 of the 2 week liquid pre-op diet. Surgery scheduled for June 11th.
      Soooo I am coming to a realization
      of something and I'm not sure what to do about it. For years the only thing I've enjoyed is eating. We rarely do anything or go anywhere and if we do it always includes food. Family comes over? Big family dinner! Go camping? Food! Take a short ride or trip? Food! Holiday? Food! Go out of town for a Dr appointment? Food! When we go to a new town we don't look for any attractions, we look for restaurants we haven't been to. Heck, I look forward to getting off work because that means it's almost supper time. Now that I'm drinking these pre-op shakes for breakfast, lunch, and supper I have nothing to look forward to.  And once I have surgery on June 11th it'll be more of the same shakes. Even after pureed stage, soft food stage, and finally regular food stage, it's going to be a drastic change for the rest of my life. I'm giving up the one thing that really brings me joy. Eating. How do you cope with that? What do you do to fill that void? Wow. Now I'm sad.

      Three months and four days ago... I was in Costa Rica having a life changing surgery! Yesterday we had a followup visit with Dr. Esmeral via video chat and this morning my middle number changed.  I'm down 47lbs and two pants sizes. I can wear a Large tshirt for the first time in like... 14 years! Woot!! Everything is going great. I have zero regrets. I went down to the riverwalk with a friend and walked 2 miles on Monday without even getting fatigued. And no more snoring or chugging pickle juice for crazy leg cramps! I need to go to the gym more... I'm making new shirts next week so that will motivate me. LOL But I'm also just not as TIRED all the time! I have a LONG way to go...but seeing the progress on the scales and in the mirror is a huge motivator!! Thank you all for cheering me on and supporting me!!
