:scared: Thanx heaps everyone..for your support and thoughts. My op went well, had it done at 10.30am Monday and was home by 1pm Tuesday. I am amazed at the lack of pain (I have to admit,I'm a real sook when it comes to pain!)I have suffered only slightly with the shoulder pain but havent had to take any pain killers.

I am following the Fluid stage to the "T"...only having the reccommended 50ml at a time...and for the first time in my life,I don't feel hungry at all. I weighed myself this morning and have already lost 3kg.....wish I had had the banding done sooner!!!

I am taking a dissolvable Multivitamin...I figure it can't do any harm!

I will endevour to take a few pics (as ugly as they may be but hey,I can only look better down the track!)

My weight on the day of banding was 125kg (275lb ?) and am now 122kg so its downhill from here! I was 139kg in November 2006 but did manage to lose some weight before surgery ( I entered a "Family Overhaul" competition and we were chosen to be one of two families in Australia to challenge each other, by following "The Great Australian Diet" (by Dr.Tickell) and seeing which family lost the most weight AND became the fittest over a 6 week period) Our family managed to lose a total of 45+ kgs in that period and have won an $8000 holiday!! Worth it in more ways than one I can asure you! Well,I've taken up enough of your time, please feel free to email me at robzmissus@bigpond.com anytime. Good luck to all those pending bandsters and to all those who are already on this journey. Cheers,Deb.

Dear Gigi,

Thanx for your reply. I hope your band is as nice to you as mine is being to me!!! (I hope I'm not being premature) Are you here in Oz? If so,where and have you found out how much its going to cost you? I have heard so many variations on price ...but then again, when you work out the cost of long term illnesses etc associated with obesity, the band is a great lifetime investment! Look forward to hearing from you...and I'll be thinking of you on the 30th!:D

Losing my hair in clumps and still dealing with "stomach" issues from gallbladder removal surgery. On the positive side I'm doing better about meeting protein and water goals and taking my vitamins, so yay? 🤷‍♀️

I've hit a stall 9 months out. I'm not worried, though. My fitness levels continue to improve and I have nearly accomplished my pre-surgery goal of learning to scuba dive! One dive left to complete to get my PADI card 🐠
I was able to go for a 10K/6mile hike in the mountains two days ago just for the fun of it. In the before days, I might have attempted this, but it would have taken me 7 or 8 hours to complete and I would have been exhausted and in pain for the next two days. Taking my time with breaks for snacks and water, I was finished with my wee jaunt in only 4 hours 😎 and really got to enjoy photographing some insects, fungi, and turtles.

I have no clue where to upload this, so I'll put it here. This is pre-op vs the morning of my 6 month appointment! In office I weight 232, that's 88 lbs down since my highest weight, 75 lbs since my surgery weight! I can't believe this jacket fit... I am smaller now than the last time I was this size which the surgeon found really amusing. He's happy with where I am in my weight loss and estimates I'll be around 200 lbs by my 1 year anniversary! My lowest weight as an adult is 195, so that's pretty damn exciting to think I'll be near that at a year. Everything from there will be unknown territory!!
