  1. Hi, I was banded on Jan 15th,2007 I weighed in at 137kg on the day of my op. I am sitting at my goal weight of 65kg today,16 months AFTER banding! The BEST decision I have ever made was the day I decided to be banded!! To anyone going thru a rough patch with the whole experience...hang in there...it is definately worth it! Keep up all your good work and awesome posts, Cheers xox
  2. Thanks for all replies...this is an awesome site,so helpful, friendly and a great place for encouragement! Good luck to each and everyone of you!:rose:
  3. Dear Gigi, Thanx for your reply. I hope your band is as nice to you as mine is being to me!!! (I hope I'm not being premature) Are you here in Oz? If so,where and have you found out how much its going to cost you? I have heard so many variations on price ...but then again, when you work out the cost of long term illnesses etc associated with obesity, the band is a great lifetime investment! Look forward to hearing from you...and I'll be thinking of you on the 30th!
  4. :scared: Thanx heaps everyone..for your support and thoughts. My op went well, had it done at 10.30am Monday and was home by 1pm Tuesday. I am amazed at the lack of pain (I have to admit,I'm a real sook when it comes to pain!)I have suffered only slightly with the shoulder pain but havent had to take any pain killers. I am following the Fluid stage to the "T"...only having the reccommended 50ml at a time...and for the first time in my life,I don't feel hungry at all. I weighed myself this morning and have already lost 3kg.....wish I had had the banding done sooner!!! I am taking a dissolvable Multivitamin...I figure it can't do any harm! I will endevour to take a few pics (as ugly as they may be but hey,I can only look better down the track!) My weight on the day of banding was 125kg (275lb ?) and am now 122kg so its downhill from here! I was 139kg in November 2006 but did manage to lose some weight before surgery ( I entered a "Family Overhaul" competition and we were chosen to be one of two families in Australia to challenge each other, by following "The Great Australian Diet" (by Dr.Tickell) and seeing which family lost the most weight AND became the fittest over a 6 week period) Our family managed to lose a total of 45+ kgs in that period and have won an $8000 holiday!! Worth it in more ways than one I can asure you! Well,I've taken up enough of your time, please feel free to email me at robzmissus@bigpond.com anytime. Good luck to all those pending bandsters and to all those who are already on this journey. Cheers,Deb.
  5. Hi all, Just joined up and wanted to introduce myself. I'm being banded tomorrow (13/01/2007) and can't wait. I have been looking forward to having it done for so long now and cant believe its only 7 hours away! I find these sites so informative and helpful...and will endevour to track my progress on here if thats ok. Anyhow, until next time...when I'm a true bandster....Debby:)
