Asking for source of info is not close minded. It is smart...

Who said close minded? Would you prefer I use the word "decisive"?

Et viola!

Well it sounds like you are very decisive and affirmation or like minds were being sought.

There... Amended.

D. All of the above.

I did not lie, I opined. Truth? Check

I responded to an open question in an open forum. Necessity? Check

I opined respectfully. Kind? Check

But I'm also fond of Einstein's quote regarding insanity.

Insanity: doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

Albert Einstein

On that note I will refrain from attempting to engage in a conversation on the subject with such decisive minds and not drive myself insane.

Well, I think it is an important topic to discuss.

One of the reasons I went with the sleeve is that it was int he back of my mind that I could get the DS if I needed it... sort of the next step. It has never been my plan to fail with the sleeve, but rather, I am mightily determined to remain a healthy weight and if I need more surgical help, I will seriously consider it.

I am getting plastics and one thing I was told by the plastic surgeons is that their most serious complications are higher risk with DS patients. Take the nutritional issues seriously.

That's exactly what I do not want to happen. I understand its a process and not a magic wand but am I on a 5lbs a month trend til I stop all together or will my body eventually let me get to goal. I understand waiting a little while and letting things take their coarse but I also do not want to feel that I wasted time trying to get to a goal that my body won't allow. I'm just wondering realistically how long to wait. 2 years seems like a long time. I was thinking a year. Especially if I stop losing all together in a few months' date=' however I don't want to jump the gun so to speak either, especially when considering all things involved in finishing the switch.[/quote']

I can see why this is a tough decision. I don't envy you having to make it. Are there other forums where people have been through it that can share their experiences?

I have not had the surgery yet and find that their are a lot of positive feedback on this forums, so newbies don't get scared off, if your feel that the sleeve is right for u then do it, everyone looses at a different rate and if you hit a stall then go back to 5 days of liquid it will give u a push

I changed my profile image to a molecule of protein. Why? Because I am certain that it saved my life.

Two years out. Lost 120 , regained 5 lbs. Recently has a bout of Norovirus, lost 7 pounds in two days. Now my stomach feels like it did right after my surgery. Sore, sensitive to even water.  Anyone out there have a similar experience?

Am I the only struggling to get weight down. I started with weight of 297 and now im 280 but seem to not lose more weight. My nutrtionist told me not to worry about the pounds because I might still be losing inches. However, I do not really see much of a difference is this happen to any of you, if so any tips?
      Thanks

Well recovering from gallbladder removal was a lot like recovering from the modified duodenal switch surgery, twice in 4 months yay 🥳😭. I'm having to battle cravings for everything i shouldn't have, on top of trying to figure out what happens after i eat something. Sigh, let me fast forward a couple of months when everyday isn't a constant battle and i can function like a normal person again! 😞
