how many oz of cooked fish can you eat post op?

So i live in a fishing town where you can fish all year..its a staple up here in northern bc. What i would like to know is the amount of fish in oz we should be able to eat? Im hoping its a good protein source too cause salmon veggie soup is delicious!!

It will depend on how far post op you are. I wasn't allowed anything but liquids for four weeks -- I'm on soft foods now, about 7 weeks out, and can eat 2 oz. fish or any other meat, maximum. I expect that will change over time, I see other people later on can eat up to 4 oz.

I'm not allowed soup -- ever -- since it's the same thing as drinking with your meal. As my doctor explained it, if you drank broth from a mug at the same time as eating chunks of meat and veggies on a plate, everyone knows that isn't okay. So why is it okay if you dump them all into a bowl and eat/drink them together? But most people are allowed soup on their post-op plans.

I am 12 weeks out and can eat about 2-3 oz of seafood. I do eat soup but it fills me up too quickly to get much in so it's not the best choice for me. Perhaps enjoying the content and straining the broth would be more ideal.

At 8 months out I can usually eat about 3-4 oz. of fish. A little less of more dense proteins like steak.

I'm 15 months out- I can get 2-3 at the very most 3 of a nice dense piece of fish.

I realize it's less than others, but I don't push my tummy, or try to eat more. I stop when I'm full.

Usually it's 2 or under.

LOVE fresh fish!!!

I can eat a little more than 3 oz of fish, but I usually stop at three so I have room for a little starch and veggie with lunch or dinner. Now that I'm further out, I do enjoy soup. I just make sure I eat enough Protein in it.
