Anyone work in the medical field....

And works 12 hr shifts? (Or any type of work) I'm having surgery on 8/8 and go back to work on 8/23! Just wondering how you felt when you went back to work and standing on your feet for that long and caring for patients?!? Were you totally exhausted at first!

I know everyone is different, but just curious!!

My surgeon has an 8 week lifting restriction. I am a physical therapist assistant in a nursing facility so I do a lot of lifting. My company won't allow me to work with that restriction. Even if I only work with high level patients and have an aide to help me. It's a liability I guess.

I can totally relate. I am a Peds RN as well :)

Not only that, my surgery is the day before yours! :)

Hi.... I know we all have our own different experiences, as far as post op. I would suggest being very prepared for your work days. Pack your meals, even taking a bite while you chart helps to get your protein in. I'm excited for you, I was sooooo nervous right up to being wheeled into the or ( am I doing the right thing?) YES I WAS!!!!! Follow your physicians orders and you will do great ;)
