Just found out my sleeve surgery was approved.

I'm scheduled for August 27th. This thing just got real. I wasn't nervous before, but now I'm starting to have my doubts. I'm afraid I won't be able to maintain a strict diet and not be successful. Is this normal? Has anyone else has the same concern?

I also found out that my Doctor doesn't require a special diet pre-op. he just has you fast 24 hours before surgery. Having my doubts.

Welcome to VST!!!! Congrats on the date! I was just the opposite....nervous and doubting myself for months....then I was finally at peace.....and now one week away, I have anxiety again......I know this is the best thing for me, but I'm still anxious. I think the doubting is normal.....this is a huge change.

Welcome to the forum. I think there are plenty of people who experience what you are feeling. I have my moments of out as well and I'm still new to the process. I was told by my nurse that it is a complete reframing of the mind. I don't know about you, but I have a LOT of years worth of failed diets...it's ingrained in me to fail, so she encouraged me to work on reframing that mind set.

Congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I wish you the very best.
